Thank you to @joyart for nominating me!
Following on from my children, I have to mention my husband - for whom I'm extremely grateful for.
I hadn't planned on being in Wyoming at this time, but apparently my Heavenly Father did!
I spent two months in a homeless shelter in Spokane where there is a major shortage of low-income housing. I turned to Craigslist, knowing that sometimes low-income housing apartments were advertised in there. I cast my nets further and further only making sure that Greyhound could get us there!
It was Casper, Wyoming, where I was able to find housing. On the winter solstice 2016, we entered Wyoming to live. (And during the minute of totality of the Eclipse of August 2017, I felt very emotional that I had been brought into the perfect spot to see it!)
Before summer, I met Mike and we married on Halloween 2017. He has become my greatest supporter and my number one fan!
I never even dated anyone who wanted to know about my A'mara stories. Mike loves hearing them, so he often gets the first read-aloud - me stopping from time to time to correct a typo.
Although I doubt he'll ever join Steemit on his own, he's very supportive - especially when I got my Curie award in April for my fiction writing. He does worry that I don't get paid enough for my work - but he also understands that it's exposure and a great place to start.
I hope that some day soon, my sons will get to meet their new step-father. I am so blessed to have found someone who isn't perfect, but seems to be perfectly suited to me (most of the time, anyway!)
Here is one of our wedding photos from last Halloween. (The day was chosen in part because his brother also got married another Halloween a number of years previously.)
To be a part of this beautiful challenge,
The rules are as follows:
Write a post about something you have to be positive about today - this could be anything from being thankful for your current situation, someone being nice to you, being thankful for your friends and family, etc.
Do this for 7 days in a row if you get nominated
Mention three people who should do this on each day.
Tag it with #7daypositivitychallenge and include these rules at the bottom of your post
Include a picture of something positive.
Today I'm nominating:
@bengy - who included me in his entry for the Pay-it-Forward Curation contest, week 6!
@trincowski - who has included me in his entry for the Pay-it-Forward Curation contest, week 8!
@thedarkhorse - who hosts the awesome Pay-it-Forward Curation contest. If you haven't already heard about this excellent contest, please follow @thedarkhorse right now because it's the most positive trend on Steemit right now - a contest based on finding undervalued bloggers to promote. Although this week's contest is now closed for new entries, the new week will be announced in the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled.
(If you've already done this positivity challenge, you're excused - at least in my book!)
