Saludos estimados amigos de Holos&Lotus, feliz de estar participando en el concurso [Films que inspiran 2da edición](https://hive.blog/hive-131951/@rosahidalgo/y-volver-volver-volver-1-1-juntos-back-back-back-1-1-together). Aquí traigo otro de mis films favoritos que de alguna manera nos hacen reflexionar en pro del crecimiento personal al aplicarlo en nuestra vida. Invito a participar a @actioncats y @miyexi.

Nada llega a nuestra vida por casualidad, todo tiene una razón de ser que no siempre podemos dilucidar al instante. Nunca había escuchado hablar de la película “La Cabaña”, me la recomendó una persona en el momento que estaba atravesando una crisis depresiva, me dijo “ve esta película, te va a ayudar”. En la película “La Cabaña” se debate el tema del duelo al perder a un ser querido, de ese cuestionamiento del porque nos pasan cosas malas, pensamos que son injustas y no las merecemos. Nos torturamos pensando que quienes hacen daño continúan en la vida como si nada y no es justo, mientras que los afectados al parecer quedamos marcados y esto nos impide vivir plenamente.

En esta película se centra la importancia de perdonar, aceptar y soltar, tal como lo vivió Mackenzie “Mack” Phillips (Sam Worthington), quien tuvo que afrontar una gran pérdida en su vida, la muerte de su pequeña hija Missy que fue secuestrada por un asesino en serie. Mack siempre se sintió culpable por lo sucedido, porque en el instante que Missy desapareció, él se encontraba salvando a uno de sus hijos mayores que se había volcado junto a su hermana en una canoa en el lago. La atención de resucitar a su hijo que estaba a punto de morir ahogado le hizo perder la atención hacia Missy.

Después de vivir por años muy feliz con su familia, su mundo desplomó. El duelo que enfrentó Mack por algunos años lo alejó de su familia, siempre estaba de malhumor y a la vez triste, lleno de rencor y lo peor de todo es que no sabía contra quien peleaba esa lucha interna. Me identifiqué con la película porque en ese momento estaba atravesando por un duelo y experimentaba las mismas emociones que el personaje principal, estaba triste, todo me ponía de malhumor, no me podía concentrar en las actividades que hacía y sentía mucho resentimiento por la persona que me había causado daño. Me sentía peor cuando pensaba que esa persona andaba en el mundo como si nada, mientras que yo me consumía en el rencor, la tristeza y no conciliaba vivir plenamente. Mi vida también cambió, estaba feliz, después sentí que el mundo se me vino encima.

Ese episodio que estaba viviendo me llevó a cuestionar mi fe, porque no entendía del porqué de lo sucedido, estaba molesta con el mundo entero. Ver la película me hizo reflexionar, el personaje principal también se sintió traicionado, si él era creyente, porque su creador había permitido algo tan funesto como eso?. Pasé varios meses experimentando culpa, tristeza, dolor, ansiedad y rencor, sin embargo, al ver la película entendí muchas cosas, que no importaba como me imaginaba yo que se sintiera el otro, sino en lo que debía yo hacer, centrarme en mí, en como sanar para seguir adelante y para eso tenía que perdonar.

Mack tuvo que aferrarse a su fe, a volver a creer y a perdonar, allí me di cuenta que yo debía hacer lo mismo, cada quien a su manera, pero lo importante era lograr el cometido. Tuve que hacer un ejercicio que me había encomendado mi psicoterapeuta y admito que no fue fácil. Perdonar no se trata solo de decirlo una vez, hay que querer hacerlo de corazón y repetir el ejercicio las veces que sea necesario, al igual que decirlo “yo te perdono”, las veces que sea conveniente. Ver la película también me hizo entender que lo que pasó no fue mi culpa, a veces las cosas pasan porque así deben pasar y por eso debemos aceptar y soltar para seguir adelante.

“La cabaña” me dejó una gran lección de vida, no perdonar solo nos hace daño a nosotros quienes sentimos ese rencor. Que al dejar de vivir plenamente es tiempo perdido solo para nosotros mismos. No importa que quien nos hizo daño no nos pida perdón, es un deber nuestro otorgar el perdón para poder vivir en paz. Mack nunca vio el rostro de su verdugo, éste nunca le pidió perdón y aunque nunca volverá a ver a Missy, no puede cambiar lo sucedido, pero si aceptarlo, perdonar y soltar para poder sanar internamente.

Esta película también me enseñó que para sanar hay querer hacerlo, que perdonar es mi responsabilidad por siempre, por mí y para mí bienestar. Que no importa cómo le vaya al otro que tanto daño hizo, estar pendiente de eso no nos hace bien. Nunca más le veré el rostro a quien fue mi verdugo, pero haberlo perdonado me concedió mi victoria.

Greetings dear friends of Holos&Lotus, happy to be participating in the contest [Films that inspire 2nd edition](https://hive.blog/hive-131951/@rosahidalgo/y-volver-volver-volver-1-1-1-juntos-back-back-back-back-1-1-1-together). Here I bring another of my favorite films that somehow make us reflect on personal growth by applying it in our lives. I invite @actioncats and @miyexi to participate.

Nothing comes into our lives by chance, everything has a reason for being that we cannot always elucidate instantly. I had never heard of the movie “The Cabin”, it was recommended to me by someone when I was going through a depressive crisis, he told me “watch this movie, it will help you”. In the movie “La Cabaña” the theme of grief when losing a loved one is discussed, the questioning of why bad things happen to us, we think they are unfair and we do not deserve them. We torture ourselves thinking that those who do harm continue in life as if nothing and it is not fair, while those affected seem to be marked and this prevents us from living fully.

This film focuses on the importance of forgiveness, acceptance and letting go, as experienced by Mackenzie “Mack” Phillips (Sam Worthington), who had to face a great loss in his life, the death of his young daughter Missy who was kidnapped by a serial killer. Mack always felt guilty about what happened, because at the moment Missy disappeared, he was saving one of his older sons who had capsized with his sister in a canoe on the lake. The attention of resuscitating his son, who was about to drown, made him lose focus on Missy.

After years of living happily with his family, his world collapsed. The grief that Mack faced for some years distanced him from his family, he was always in a bad mood and at the same time sad, full of resentment and worst of all, he didn't know against whom he was fighting this internal struggle. I identified with the movie because at that time I was going through a grief and I was experiencing the same emotions as the main character, I was sad, everything made me grumpy, I could not concentrate on the activities I was doing and I felt a lot of resentment for the person who had hurt me. I felt worse when I thought that the person was walking in the world as if nothing happened, while I was consumed in resentment, sadness and I could not reconcile living fully. My life also changed, I was happy, then I felt that the world came down on me.

That episode that I was living led me to question my faith, because I did not understand why it happened, I was upset with the whole world. Watching the movie made me reflect, the main character also felt betrayed, if he was a believer, why had his creator allowed something as disastrous as that? I spent several months experiencing guilt, sadness, pain, anxiety and resentment, however, by watching the movie I understood many things, that it did not matter how I imagined the other person felt, but what I had to do, focus on myself, on how to heal to move forward and for that I had to forgive.

Mack had to hold on to his faith, to believe again and to forgive, and I realized that I had to do the same, each one in his own way, but the important thing was to achieve the task. I had to do an exercise that my psychotherapist had asked me to do and I admit that it was not easy. Forgiveness is not just a matter of saying it once, you have to want to do it from the heart and repeat the exercise as many times as necessary, as well as saying “I forgive you” as many times as it is convenient. Watching the movie also made me understand that what happened was not my fault, sometimes things happen because they must happen and that is why we must accept and let go in order to move forward.

“The cabin” left me with a great life lesson, not forgiving only hurts us who feel that resentment. That when we stop living fully, it is time lost only for ourselves. It doesn't matter if the person who hurt us doesn't ask for forgiveness, it is our duty to grant forgiveness in order to live in peace. Mack never saw the face of his tormentor, he never asked for forgiveness and although he will never see Missy again, he cannot change what happened, but he can accept it, forgive and let go in order to heal internally.

This film also taught me that in order to heal we must want to do it, that forgiveness is my responsibility forever, for me and for my wellbeing. That it doesn't matter how the other person who hurt me so much is faring, to be aware of that doesn't do us any good. I will never again see the face of the person who was my tormentor, but having forgiven him granted me my victory.
