I'm more of a computer gamer, but I can't imagine playing From Software games or our native Witcher on a mouse and keyboard. In some types of games, having a controller is somehow.... an obligation? A luxury? It's mainly about the pleasure of the gameplay, and sometimes it's even necessary for racing titles due to the presence of triggers in controllers. Thanks to them, we can manipulate the speed obtained in such games, where simply 0 - 1 movement works on the keyboard. However, there is one, very ad hoc, disadvantage of controllers. This is, of course, controller drift. What is it? It is the spontaneous movement of the controller knobs, which is in no way controlled by the player. This is due to the specific design of the knobs, which break notoriously. The question is not if, but when they break. Of course, you can fix the malfunction by cleaning the knobs with isopropyl alcohol, but I know from experience that this only solves the problem for a while.

Chinese company Gulikit has risen to the challenge, offering products for gamers based on their patented electromagnetic knob technology. The manufacturer declares that they are much more durable than equivalents from other manufacturers. Some time ago (probably six months ago) I was tempted by the KingKong2 PRO controller, which just has this technology, while offering various other bits and pieces. Construction

The layout of the knobs and the size of the buttons are deceptively similar to the well-known design from the Xbox One/Series. This is also proven by the rough material on the back of the pad, which improves grip. The crossbar is classic, which is a shame, as I prefer the clicky crossbar from the Xbox Series more. On another downside here, I would like to mention the lack of a mini-jack connector at the bottom of the design. R1 R2 L1 L2 are in silver, which I think is elegant and matches the metal knobs. Comfort from usage

As for the difference in thumbstick technology, it is practically not felt. The knobs work very well, with various technologies aimed more at FPS games (no dead zone or AI assistant). I haven't delved into it too much, but looking at the instructions I'm amazed at how ingenious the developers are. We can adjust a lot of things, from professional mode to teaching the moves we want to make with a single button. I would also include setting the sensitivity of the triggers and joysticks. It seems to me that you can nicely adjust the pad here to our preferences. On the downside, I would like to mention here the shape of the buttons (ABYX), which are flatter than those used in controllers from Xbox, although here it is rather my preference. Despite this, the buttons used here are of mechanical button technology (native to mechanical keyboards), which feature a more durable design. Currently, I use the controller most often to play the latest Zelda on Nintendo Switch. I find it to be as pleasant a feel as possible. Connectivity

The controller can be connected wired, as well as wirelessly. It works on bluetooth, so we can use it on a phone or in wireless mode on a PC. Pairing with the Switch is quick and seamless. We can also wake up our console with the home button. There's also an Amiibo sensor, so we can introduce the figure's interaction with the console with the guidance of this controller. I did, however, notice a drawback that causes the pad to lag more. Because of this, I sometimes had to reset the controller, but this did not happen very often.

Summary

KingKong2 PRO is a solid controller, thanks to its high survivability, can prove to be a very good opportunity to play our favorite titles for months and maybe years. I was tempted to buy this product because of the drift of my Xbox Series controller. There are other proposals on the market, where we have additional paddles on the back or replacing the underside of the knobs with others. Here we may not have such goodies, but this is also dictated by the price of the controller, and the price is about $70 (280 pln). The price is comparable to pads from the competition, also I heartily recommend considering the KingKong2 PRO. ;)

Jestem graczem raczej komputerowym, ale nie wyobrażam sobie grania w gry firmy From Software, bądź naszego rodzimego Wiedźmina na myszce i klawiaturze. W niektórych typach gier posiadanie kontrolera jest poniekąd... obowiązkiem? Luksusem? Chodzi głównie o przyjemność rozgrywki, a czasem nawet jest to konieczne przy tytułach wyścigowych z racji obecności triggerów w kontrolerach. Dzięki nimi możemy manipulować prędkość uzyskiwaną w takich grach, gdzie po prostu na klawiaturze działa ruch 0 - 1. Jest natomiast jedna, bardzo doraźna, wada kontrolerów. Jest to oczywiście driftowanie kontrolera. Czym to jest? Jest to samoistny ruch gałek kontrolera, który w żaden sposób nie jest kontrolowany przez gracza. Wynika to z specyficznej budowy gałek, które psują się notorycznie. Pytanie nie brzmi czy, tylko kiedy się zepsują. Oczywiście można naprawić usterkę czyszcząc gałki alkoholem izopropylowym, ale z doświadczenia wiem, że rozwiązuje to tylko na pewien czas problem.

Na wysokości zadania stanęła chińska firma Gulikit, oferując produkty dla graczy oparte na ich opatentowywanej technologii elektromagnetycznych gałek. Producent deklaruje, że są o wiele bardziej trwalsze niż odpowiedniki u innych producentów. Jakiś czas temu (prawdopodobnie pół roku temu) skusiłem się na kontroler KingKong2 PRO, który właśnie posiada tę technologię, oferując równocześnie różne inne bajery. Budowa

Układ gałek i wielkość przycisków do złudzenia przypominają znaną konstrukcję z Xbox One/Series. Udowadnia to również szorstki materiał z tyłu pada, który poprawia chwyt. Krzyżak jest klasyczny, a szkoda, ponieważ bardziej preferuję klikany krzyżak z Xbox'a Series. Na jeszcze jeden minus chciałbym tutaj wspomnieć o braku złącza mini-jack u dołu konstrukcji. R1 R2 L1 L2 są w kolorze srebrnym, co uważam za eleganckie i pasują do metalowych gałek. Wygoda z korzystania

Jeżeli chodzi o różnicę technologii gałek, to praktycznie nie odczuwa się tego. Gałki działają bardzo dobrze, posiadają różne technologie skierowanych raczej do gier FPS (no dead zone albo asystent AI). Nie wgłębiałem się w to za bardzo, ale patrząc na instrukcje jestem zdumiony, jak bardzo pomysłowi są twórcy. Możemy regulować wiele rzeczy, począwszy od profesjonalnego tryb, aż do uczenia ruchów które chcemy zrobić jednym przyciskiem. Do tego grona również chciałbym zaliczyć ustawianie czułości triggerów oraz joysticków. Wydaje mi się, że można tutaj fajnie dostosować pada pod nasze preferencje. Na minus chciałbym tutaj wspomnieć o kształcie przycisków (ABYX), które są bardziej płaskie niż te użytych w kontrolerach od Xbox, chociaż tutaj to jest raczej moja preferencja. Pomimo tego, użyte tutaj przyciski są w technologii przycisków mechanicznych (rodem z klawiatur mechanicznych), które cechują się bardziej wytrzymałą konstrukcją. Aktualnie kontrolera używam najczęściej do ogrywania najnowszej Zeldy na Nintendo Switch. Uważam, że jest to jak najbardziej przyjemne odczucie. Łączność

Kontroler możemy podłączyć przewodowo, jak i również bezprzewodowo. Działa na bluetooth, przez co możemy używać go na telefonie lub w trybie bezprzewodowym na PC. Parowanie ze Switchem jest szybkie i bezproblemowe. Możemy również wybudzać naszą konsolę przyciskiem home. Jest tu również czujnik Amiibo, więc możemy wprowadzić interakcję figurki z konsolą za przewodnictwem tego kontrolera. Odnotowałem jednak pewną wadę, która powoduje większe opóźnienie pada. Przez to czasem musiałem resetować kontroler, ale nie zdarzało się to zbyt często.

Podsumowanie i cena

KingKong2 PRO jest solidnym padem, który dzięki swojej wysokiej przeżywalności może okazać się bardzo dobrą okazją do ogrywania w nasze ulubione tytuły miesiącami, a może i latami. Skusiłem się na ten produkt z racji driftowania mojego kontrolera Xbox Series. Na rynku istnieją również inne propozycje, gdzie posiadamy dodatkowe łopatki z tyłu bądź wymienianie spodu gałek na inne. Tutaj może nie posiadamy takich dobroci, ale jest to również podyktowaną ceną kontrolera, a cena to około 70 dolarów (280 pln). Cena jest porównywalna z padami od konkurencji, także ja serdecznie polecam zastanowić się nad KingKong2 PRO. ;)
