These types of comments don't earn anything, pure and simple. Actually take your time to read what you're commenting on and type a long and insightful reply. You can even go for a joke. Keep in mind though: **your comment must be relevant** in relation to the content that you comment on. Post about programming? Don't write a comment about food. When you **upvote** a post or a comment, you increase its payout, its visibility and increase that user's reputation. This is basically what steemit calls *curation*. When you're new on steemit, this is a harder task as your steem power is small and curating doesn't get you much. I cannot really go more into the subject of curation as it is a vast one.
