Today has been a day that has been challenging news (yet again) for my family. It has been quite a ride in 2018, but at the same time, this is the time when faith is truly tested; not because this is a test to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but it is more of a test of faith from the Kingdom of Heaven, knowing that despite not my entire family is redeemed by the finished work of the cross, He still keeps His promises to take care of each and every one of us as an entire family.

Today I am writing on behalf of my parents’ Steemit account which I have opened for them some time back just to encourage my dad to put his expression on words (but quite a fail to do so ha ha), just as @pennsif has advised, to keep the project apart from my main account to keep things clean and easy to track.

If you have seen from my main account, with all the love, positive thoughts and prayers, through the LORD’s mighty hand with His favour, the wisdom of doctors and the patience of nurses, my mom survived through her cataract surgery, and about 2 months down the road they detected my mom’s left eye has deteriorate faster than usual, probably because now she has 2 extreme side of strains, one eye with a clear vision, and the other with still a thickening cataract.

So the head ophthalmologist (surgeon) that has been taking care of my mom suggested another cataract surgery – this time for her left eye.

Everything was under control despite of the speeding of the thickening of the cataract, until the recent incident that my dad washospitalised after losing almost 3 pines of blood with internal bleeding caused by aspirin intake to unblock his clogged ankles (you can read the full post here), the strain few days of terror, lack of sleep, worries have gotten both my mom’s condition much worse.

Both her eyes are having redness and today’s report has shown that her left eye’s cornea is slightly inflamed and infected due to all sorts of causes and she has to postpone the surgery to March 2019, with extra special lubricant eye drops and more rest for the eye to recuperate.

Usually a normal person will not suffer such deterioration, but because my mom has Keratoconus disease, plus she (almost died but) survived from Steven Johnson Syndrome attack back in 2006, according to the National Eye Institute journal, has caused her eyes to weaken much more.

This complicates a lot of things as her right cornea has miraculously sustaining (though weak), the ophthalmologist did say to be ready for a cornea transplant after 6 months surgery if her left cornea cannot sustain the implanted lens.

It wouldn’t be a huge problem if there was a medical insurance to cover; but unfortunately because of my mom’s SJS incident she is considered extreme high risk patient and no insurance will cover her unless I pay through my nose for her special policy. Besides, she’s over 70 and no insurance agency would want to do a losing business.

Let’s face it. This is reality.

It also wouldn’t be a problem if I am still earning about 1,000 USD net a month too, even with a mortgage I have taken so that my parents can come stay with me; until my boss broke the bad news that all seniors need to take a 300 USD cut a month for 3 months (before reviewing the conditions again) with a forced 1 day off work starting on March 2019.

Speaking of coincidence… that’s the irony. Ha ha.

@bitrocker2020 and the rest of the #teammalaysia team members have been seeing me riding through from one storm to another, and they too, wonder when it will stop; but no one controls the storm, we can only stick it through. So he did suggest me to set up a fundition project to at least cover some of my expenses during my unpaid leave in March to take care of my mom, so that it is less burdensome. So in the light of positive attitude to always prepare before the draught hits, I have decided to run a project on my parents’ Steemit account.

My plan is to try to hit the estimated expenses in my google sheet as close as possible, and I have been advised to go for the highest budget in case of anything extra happens as we do not know the biopsy report of my dad’s after the incident. We are hoping for the best and I hope that this setback is going to be temporary and we can ride through the storms to see the rainbow at the end and pay it forward to others in the future.

So here is my road map until March 2019

@craftsofluv previously have successfully run a few raffle contest on its handcrafted up-cycling gifts to #teammalaysia members before, and this time it will run two posts in March for two gifts; one for exchangers in Malaysia where @teammalaysia and @steemxp (that resides in Malaysia) who helped to participate, and also for backers and donors list that will be including international recipients.

So this time once again this project will team up with @dses (as exchange point), @craftsofluv (for raffle), @gtpjfoodbank (to assist in monthly food supply on basic needs like oil, potatoes and rice noodles, because the rest of the food is restricted from consuming for my parents due to process food) and the whole Steemit family to pull this through together.

I truly hope that fundition will consider this project worthy to help each family who is in temporary financial crisis; and also a good template for future needs of families across the world and communities of each country to as an idea to help one another.
