Every sniper has their own statistics and each one must learn to use it individually, as not all will have the same deviation, not all shoot at the same speed and by extension not all have the same bullet drop, if you want to master this game and feel like a true sniper, it will take you a long time on the shooting range to understand at least one weapon. But in our case, we didn't do that, and that's because the game has an aiming aid that doesn't directly fix the target on the head, but it does show you an additional sight where the shot will fall once you pull the trigger, it's the quickest way to play the game without worrying about studying a weapon to exhaustion, but if you want to do it you can turn off the assistance at any time, also on the highest difficulties it is locked and cannot be used. I'm going to attribute this to lack of experience, but I once tried to calculate shots without aiming assistance and found it very difficult. My friend and I discussed what we might be doing wrong, and ultimately we preferred to simply play with assistance for now, to progress in the campaign and then move on to another game that interests us, Sniper Elite 5. The first missions of the game have been excellent; stealth is a must for us, and when we are discovered, there's no choice but to reload and try again. Let's say we are walking outside a building with a guard inside and one outside, we take out the one outside and proceed to go up the stairs of the building, at which point the one inside hears a couple of steps and automatically becomes suspicious, it could be the steps of the guard who was there, there is no way for the AI to know this and it makes it a bit unfair in my opinion. On the other hand, when killing a guard, the ideal is to hide it as best as possible, but sometimes guards see a body from the other end of the room, behind a wall, in a place where technically it is impossible to see them, again it is something that can ruin a game when the mistake is not really ours, and it is something that has happened to us a lot in the mission we are currently trying to complete, it sours the experience a bit but I have not stopped enjoying the game because of it. Sniper Elite 4 offers quite exploitable stealth mechanics, you can throw rocks to attract enemies, or something I really like, use an external noise source to mask the shots so you are not discovered, there is a particular mission where you can use a giant cannon that shoots every so often to camouflage your shots, and so far it's my favorite mission in the game, nothing to say in this regard (there is a train in this mission, that's why). Sin embargo, eso no me aleja de seguirlo jugando y disfrutándolos, eso sí, cuando llega la hora de jugarlos en multijugador la cosa cambia un poco, dependes de un equipo y el equipo depende de ti, hay responsabilidad y expectativa, y eso es algo que me hace esforzarme al máximo para ser un poco más paciente y que no me descubran, que lo siguen haciendo, sí, pero quiero creer que voy mejorando poco a poco. Y es por eso que agradezco mucho la paciencia de quienes juegan juegos de sigilo conmigo, en especial un amigo gracias a quien es posible este post. Pero hablemos de una vez por todas del juego, y es que yo nunca he jugado un Sniper Elite, habré probado el 2 5 minutos hace años y poco más, pero esta es como tal mi primera experiencia con un juego de esta franquicia, y qué puedo decir, me gustan los snipers, mientras más cómicamente grande el sniper, mejor el juego (a que no adivinan cuál es mi arma favorita del Halo… exacto). Pero Sniper Elite se aleja de cualquier cosa que yo haya jugado, la puntería de las armas intenta ser realista, y a pesar de que puedes llevar un arma secundaria y una pistola, la joya de la corona de este juego son los snipers, todo gira en torno a ellos y si quieres hacer una misión bien, mejor que aprendas a usarlos. Cada sniper tiene su propias estadísticas y cada uno debe aprender a utilizarse de forma individual, pues no todos tendrán el mismo desvío, no todos disparan a la misma velocidad y por extensión no todos tienen la misma caída, si deseas masterizar este juego y sentirte como un verdadero francotirador, va a llevarte mucho tiempo en el campo de tiro para entender por lo menos un arma. Pero en nuestro caso no hicimos eso, y es que el juego cuenta con una ayuda de apuntado que no te fija directamente el blanco en la cabeza, pero sí te muestra una mira adicional donde va a caer el disparo una vez aprietes el gatillo, es la forma más rápida de jugar al juego sin preocuparte por estudiar un arma hasta el cansancio, pero si deseas hacerlo puedes apagar la asistencia en todo momento, además que en las dificultades más altas está bloqueada y no se puede usar. Voy a atribuir esto a falta de experiencia, pero una vez intenté calcular los disparos sin la asistencia de apuntado se me hizo muy difícil, junto a mi amigo conversamos sobre lo que podríamos estar haciendo mal, y en resumen preferimos simplemente jugar con la asistencia al menos por el momento, así avanzar en la campaña y ya luego pasar a otro juego que nos interesa, Sniper Elite 5. Las primeras misiones del juego han sido excelentes, el sigilo es una obligación para nosotros y cuando nos descubren no hay de otra que cargar partida y volver a intentarlo, y si bien la mayor parte del tiempo la inteligencia de los enemigos funciona bien, hay momentos en los que simplemente no entendemos por qué funciona como lo hace. Digamos que vamos caminando por fuera de un edificio con un guardia dentro y uno fuera, eliminamos al de afuera y procedemos a subir las escaleras del edificio, momento en el cual el de adentro escucha un par de pasos y automáticamente entra en sospecha, pudiendo ser los pasos del guardia que estaba, no hay forma de que la IA sepa esto y lo hace un poco injusto en mi opinión. Por otra parte, al matar a un guardia lo ideal es ocultarlo lo mejor posible, pero es que a veces los guardias ven un cuerpo desde la otra punta de la estancia, detrás de una pared, en un lugar donde técnicamente es imposible verlos, nuevamente es algo que puede arruinar una partida cuando el error realmente no es nuestro, y es algo que nos ha pasado mucho en la misión que intentamos completar actualmente, amarga un poco la experiencia pero no por eso he dejado de disfrutar el juego. Sniper Elite 4 ofrece mecánicas de sigilo bastante explotables, puedes arrojar rocas para atraer enemigos, o algo que me gusta mucho, utilizar una fuente de ruido externa para enmascarar los disparos y que no te descubran, hay una misión en particular donde puedes usar un cañón gigante que dispara cada cierto tiempo para camuflar tus disparos, y hasta el momento es mi misión favorita del juego, nada que decir en este sentido (hay un tren en esta misión, por eso me gusta tanto). Hay mucho que puedo destacar y criticar del juego, pero siento que podría entenderlo más antes de asumir qué otras cosas son defectos del jugador y cuáles son del juego, esto solo es un puñado de mis impresiones hasta el momento, algo que no estaba en mis planes para jugar este año pero que me ha sorprendido gratamente a pesar de todo, quién diría que pasar 10 minutos en un punto sin moverse sería tan divertido.
