During our stay in Bolivia, the time had passed much more quickly than I would have liked and by the time I realised it, my return home date was just around the corner. The three weeks I had to spare before I had to catch a flight from Buenos Aires to Ushuaia were almost over, but we still had some room left to wander around a bit more. On the last part of our shared trip, we decided that getting to Santa Cruz de la Sierra would be the most convenient way for me to return to Argentina by bus, while my companion would continue on his way by car to Peru. I'd be lying if I said that the thought didn't make me sad, but at least there were still some nice places to explore in that city ❤️.

En nuestra estadía en Bolivia, el tiempo había pasado mucho más rápido de lo que me hubiese gustado y para cuando quise darme cuenta, mi fecha de regreso a casa ya estaba a la vuelta de la esquina. Las tres semanas que tenía libres antes de tener que tomar un vuelo desde Buenos Aires hacia Ushuaia ya estaban muy cerca de su fin, pero aún nos quedaba algo de lugar para seguir paseando un poco más. En la última parte de nuestro viaje compartido, decidimos que llegar hasta Santa Cruz de la Sierra sería lo más conveniente para que yo pudiera volver a Argentina en bus, mientras que mi acompañante seguiría su camino en auto rumbo a Perú. Mentiría si dijera que pensar en eso no me puso triste, pero al menos en esa ciudad seguían habiendo lugares lindos para ir a explorar ❤️.

--- --- After having visited Samaipata, with the beautiful trekking in the Elbow of the Andes and the walk in the fort, we continue our way to Santa Cruz de la Sierra. We were only 120 km away from this city, so we left early in order to make the most of the day there. When we arrived, we found a huge city with the hottest and most humid climate of all. Literally, you could hardly breathe. Staying cooped up in the air-conditioned hotel room looked very tempting, but since it was my last but one afternoon in Bolivia, I wanted to keep walking until the last minute 😃.

Después de haber visitado Samaipata, con el hermoso trekking en el Codo de Los Andes y el paseo en el fuerte, continuamos nuestro camino hacia Santa Cruz de la Sierra. Solo nos separaban 120 km de esta ciudad, por lo que salimos temprano para poder aprovechar el día allá. Cuando llegamos, nos encontramos con una ciudad grandísima y con el clima más caluroso y húmedo de todos. Literalmente, casi no se podía respirar. Quedarnos encerrados en la habitación del hotel con aire acondicionado se veía muy tentador, pero ya que era mi anteúltima tarde en Bolivia, quería seguir paseando hasta el último minuto 😃.

--- To continue our mood of small villages surrounded by nature, we decided to go a bit further away from the city centre to an eco-park we had seen on the internet. It was a place called La Rinconada, which had swimming pools, a restaurant and a green space for recreation. The entrance fee cost us about 80 Bolivian pesos each ($12), even more expensive than the entrance to the fort, but as we were just finishing our walk it was fine by me 😃.

Para continuar con nuestro mood de pueblos pequeños rodeados en la naturaleza, decidimos alejarnos un poco del centro de la ciudad hasta un ecoparque que habíamos visto en internet. Se trataba de un lugar llamado La Rinconada, el cual contaba con piscinas, restaurante y un espacio verde de recreación. La entrada nos costó unos 80 pesos bolivianos a cada uno ($12), incluso más costosa que la entrada al fuerte, pero como ya estábamos finalizando el paseo estuvo bien para mí 😃.

--- This venue wasn't really that big, but it had an incredible level of landscaping. Everything was perfectly decorated with plants of all kinds, which made it bright green in every corner. There were different trails to walk along and appreciate all kinds of vegetation. There were also spaces for rest and recreation, such as hammocks of different sizes, small suspension bridges, zip lines and armchairs to lie down on. We did not use the swimming pool because we paid the cheapest entrance fee, but we did use the restaurant for lunch (at 5 pm) 😂.

Este predio no era tan grande en verdad, pero tenía un nivel de decoración paisajística increíble. Todo estaba perfectamente decorado con plantas de todo tipo, lo que lo volvía verde brillante en cada rincón. Habían distintos senderos para recorrer y apreciar todo tipo de vegetación. También habían espacios de descanso y de recreación, como hamacas de distintos tamaños, pequeños puentes colgantes, tirolesas y sillones para recostarse. No hicimos uso de la piscina porque pagamos la entrada más barata, pero si usamos el restaurante para tener un almuerzo (a las 5 de la tarde) 😂.

--- As I always prefer nature when travelling, finding this park was a great plan for a day trip. It took us about two hours to walk around the park and then go for lunch, and as we still had time left, we even took a nap in the hammocks. Something remarkable is that we had to put on more repellent than ever, because you can imagine how many bugs and mosquitoes there were: a place with so much vegetation like that could not be otherwise 😅.

Como en los viajes siempre prefiero la naturaleza, encontrar este parque fue un gran plan para ir a pasar el día. Tardamos unas dos horas en recorrerlo todo y luego ir a comer, y como todavía nos quedaba tiempo, hasta nos tomamos una siesta en las hamacas. Algo destacable es que tuvimos que ponernos más repelente que nunca, porque se imaginaran la cantidad de bichos y mosquitos que había: un lugar con tanta vegetación como ese no podía ser de otra forma 😅.

Knowing that this was one of my last rides in Bolivia made me a little melancholic, but I tried to direct all my energy into enjoying the day with joy. To have done all that walking in the neighbouring country was a great coincidence and I was more than happy to have been able to take the opportunity. What had seemed like chaos at first turned out to be a great plan. Getting to know this park was like closing the tour in the same style as it started: seeing beautiful landscapes ❤️.

Saber que ese era uno de mis últimos paseos en Bolivia me ponía un poco melancólica, pero traté de dirigir toda mi energía a disfrutar el día con alegría. Haber hecho todo ese paseo en el país vecino fue una gran casualidad y estuve más que feliz por haber podido tomar la oportunidad. Lo que al principio me había parecido un caos, se terminó transformando en un plan genial. Conocer este parque fue como empezar a darle un cierre al paseo con el mismo estilo que empezó: viendo paisajes hermosos ❤️.
