As I've reported in previous posts, that took me a long time to find my real diagnosis in terms of mental imbalance. I went through countless and different phases of life until I finally decided to surrender to the fact that for me to move forward I would need psychiatric help, which alone I could not get and only psychological therapy would not be able to resolve something that seemed to be ingrained. in my mind. I was lucky to fall into the hands of a good psychiatrist despite the fact that my small town only had two professionals (and one of them didn't even deserve to be called a professional), and the one who attended me quickly understood the problem. I suffered from anxiety. And calling anxiety makes it appear to be something so simplistic and generic that it immediately mitigates how devastating this disorder is for those experiencing it. So we could call it *anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder "GAD"*, but the term is just a redundancy for the main factor. I remember taking these photos on a day of a lot of emotional pain and anxiety that devoured me, and the mood literally seemed to be the materialization of the chaos going on in my mind. Today I'm going to focus a little on society's difficulty in dealing with the need for medication for the human mind. That is, the first impression you get when you talk about taking medicine for your head, for problems that "are not visible". Certainly this was something much more complicated and bitter in past decades. The space of psychiatry is still slowly being conquered, and I myself never imagined that I would be an established supporter of this medicine. This has become much more visible and glaring now in the pandemic, where people went through two very, very difficult years that have probably unspeakably affected the mental health of so many human beings. The only advantage in this is undoubtedly the openness that the topic had and the possibility that you can treat some disorder without being seen with strange and accusing looks. And then, taking this first layer of the social filter that pollutes our reason, we move to a second level, where many of the problems are alleviated: *"-Ah, everyone has anxiety! Normal, just be calm, life is like that!"* There is an unworthiness in treating a psychological problem, a kind of marking, where you are the weak one, the problematic one, and not quite the opposite, the one who had enough strength to face all this shit and try to solve it. It is very common not to understand what we are talking about, not respecting the limits and journey of each one. Or, it's not uncommon for me to see people who *clearly* have needed help for years, who have spent their entire life story being bipolar, explosive, extremely complicated and who have never accepted the hypothesis of seeking psychiatric treatment because maybe they thought that that would take away your identity, your personal brand, etc. People who say: -I'm just like that, fuck it. While they don't see that they are only wearing out those around them, they are also wearing out bit by bit and eroding their own mental health by living in this constant crisis that they consider to be part of their own personality. ![P_20180519_143811.jpg](https://images.hive.blog/DQmTmQ4FuuZFDEdTujuPe9XqBpad7ihTdritoGQG4X86Wd8/P_20180519_143811.jpg) People sometimes complicate things so simple simply because of a paranoia built into our culture that medicine is here to destroy us and that pharmacy is solely manipulative, that doctors are demons (does that sound weird to you? I've heard all of them kind of thing about it). Is "*Big Pharma*" a friend and darling who cares about people? **Obviously not**! That's not what I'm saying. But do you really think that every scientist who synthesized and discovered some drug that would definitely change the minds of people with disorders was, since his youth, thinking only about becoming a millionaire and dominating the human mass? Not to mention that there is still a behavioral pattern to minimize the use of some drugs such as headache remedies, stomach remedies, constipation remedies and use them indiscriminately for decades, while occasionally using a *benzodiazepine* remedy such as *Clonazepam or Alprazolam* are seen as an act of madness, an absurdity. You can control your physical pain, but you shouldn't control your mental pain? Because? Who said? Here we will go into an even more complex layer about medication: How much and when should I take a medication to balance my mind? What if I want to be "better" every day, forever? Passei por inúmeras e diferentes fases da vida até decidir me entregar finalmente ao fato de que pra eu seguir em frente eu precisaria de uma ajuda psiquiátrica, que sozinho eu não ia conseguir e apenas uma terapia psicológica não seria capaz de resolver algo que parecia estar arraigado em minha mente. Tive a sorte de cair nas mãos de um bom psiquiatra apesar de minha pequena cidade contar apenas com dois profissionais (e um deles nem merecia ser chamado de profissional), e este que me atendeu rapidamente compreendeu o problema. Eu sofria de ansiedade. E chamar a ansiedade de ansiedade faz parecer ser algo tão simplório e genérico que imediatamente ameniza o quanto esse distúrbio é devastador para quem o vivencia. Então poderíamos chamar de distúrbio ansioso, transtorno de ansiedade generalizada, mas o termo é apenas uma redundância para o fator principal. Ansiedade. Hoje vou focar-me um pouco à respeito da dificuldade da sociedade em lidar com a necessidade de medicação para a mente humana. Ou seja, na primeira impressão que se tem quando se fala sobre tomar remédios para sua cabeça, para problemas que "não são visíveis". Certamente isso era algo muito mais complicado e amargo nas décadas passadas. O espaço da psiquiatria está ainda sendo conquistado lentamente, e eu mesmo jamais imaginei que seria um defensor havido dessa medicina. Já tive muito preconceito quanto ao uso de medicação "alopática" para problemas mentais e emocionais, mas só mesmo quem vivencia o inferno e compreende que está vivenciando algo que foge de qualquer possibilidade de ser combatida é que aceita uma intervenção externa. Como já comentei anteriormente, acho que posso dizer com segurança que pelo menos 80% da população tem algum desequilíbrio psicológico ou emocional, neurológico (e assim por diante), ainda que provavelmente, mais da metade destes não sejam diagnosticados e nem queiram ser. Isso se tornou muito mais visível e gritante agora na pandemia, onde as pessoas enfrentaram dois anos muito, muito difíceis, que provavelmente afetou de forma inenarrável a saúde mental de tantos seres humanos. A única vantagem nisso é sem dúvidas a abertura que o tema teve e a possibilidade de você poder tratar algum distúrbio sem ser visto com olhares estranhos e acusativos. E tirado então essa primeira camada do filtro social que polui nossa razão passamos para um segundo nível, onde muitos dos problemas são amenizados: "-Ah ansiedade todo mundo tem! Normal, é só ficar calma, a vida é assim mesmo!" Existe um desmerecimento em tratar um problema psicológico, uma espécie de marcação, onde você é o fraco, o problemático, e não exatamente o contrário, aquele que teve força suficiente pra encarar essa merda toda e tentar resolvê-la. É muito comum não compreenderem do que estamos falando, não respeitar o limite e a jornada de cada um. Ou ainda, não é raro para mim ver pessoas que *nitidamente* precisavam de ajuda há anos, que passaram toda a sua história de vida sendo bipolares, explosivas, complicadíssimas e que jamais aceitaram a hipótese de buscar um tratamento psiquiátrico por que talvez achavam que isso tiraria sua identidade, sua marca pessoal, etc. Pessoas que dizem: -Eu sou assim mesmo, foda-se. Ainda que não vejam que estão apenas causando desgaste nos que estão a sua volta, mas também estão se desgastando pouco a pouco e causando uma corrosão de sua própria saúde mental vivendo nessa constante crise que considera ser parte de sua própria personalidade. As pessoas as vezes complicam coisas tão simples simplesmente por uma paranoia embutida em nossa cultura de que a medicina está aqui para nos destruir e que a farmácia é unicamente manipulativa, que os médicos são demônios (isso está soando estranho pra você? Eu já ouvi todo tipo de coisa à respeito). A "Big Pharma" é amiguinha e querida que se preocupa com as pessoas? É ÓBVIO que não! Não é isso que eu estou dizendo. Mas você acha mesmo que todo cientista que sintetizou e descobriu algum fármaco que mudaria definitivamente a mente das pessoas com distúrbios estava desde de sua juventude pensando unicamente em ficar milionário e dominar a massa humana? E sem falar que existe ainda um padrão comportamental em minimizar o uso de alguns farmacos como remédios para dor de cabeça, remédios para o estômago, remédios para prisão de ventre e usá-los indiscriminadamente por décadas, enquanto, utilizar ocasionalmente um remédio benzodiazepínico como o Clonazepam ou Alprazolam são vistos como um ato de loucura, um absurdo. Você pode controlar sua dor física, mas não deve controlar sua dor mental? Por que? Quem disse? Aqui nós entraremos em uma camada mais complexa ainda sobre a medicação: Quanto e quando eu devo tomar uma medicação para equilibrar minha mente? E se eu quiser estar "melhor" todo dia, pra sempre?
