Y pues sí, lamento decepcionarte, pero toda tu vida no está en tus manos...a ver, vamos con calma, primero espero que hayas leído bien: TODA tu vida no está en tus manos, lo creo y lo afirmo y te explico porqué: creo, y la vida me ha ido enseñando, que del 100% de nuestra vida, de nuestras circunstancias sólo el 5-10% dependen netamente de nosotros. Melissa! por Dios! quiere decir que andamos por ahí a las buenas de Dios? pues … sí y no.

First of all I want to thank you for still reading me, I know I've been really lost...but the good news is that it's Monday and we're starting with everything! so stay here with me and I won't leave you anymore... And yes, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but your whole life is not in your hands... let's see, let's go calmly, first I hope you read correctly: Your whole life is not in your hands, I believe it and I affirm it and I explain why: I believe, and life has taught me, that of 100% of our life, of our circumstances only 5-10% depend clearly on us. Melissa! for God's sake! it means that we are walking around at the mercy of God? well ... yes and no. During my life as a college student and my first years of graduation I was characterized by my determination, I knew exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it, besides I had a detailed plan of how to achieve my goals and so it was, so in my precise times I was achieving one by one my goals, which is pretty good! Now, I got used to things always going my way, to managing time as I wanted and circumstances and as an adult I did not understand how being so young I could make my plans come true and now I was practically adrift. Nothing was given to me or at least not as I wanted it, I spent a lot of time evaluating myself, what was it about that Melissa that doesn't have the one now? and one day I understood it until recently "I fell crazy", as we say in Venezuela, that is, finally, really, I understood it.

Tenemos muy poco control sobre nuestras vidas: la economía, la política, las decisiones ajenas, los sentimientos ajenos, el clima, los VIRUS, pero existe un pequeño, muy pequeño porcentaje, diría que entre un 5-10% que sí depende de nosotros, entera, total y absolutamente de nosotros: de nuestras decisiones, acciones y omisiones, nuestros pensamientos, nuestros sentimientos y la mayoría de las veces cedemos nuestro poder a los demás; es entonces cuando empiezas a sentirte a la deriva, como si algo o alguien más grande que tu te manejara y si, cuando no tomas control de esa pequeña parte de tu vida que te corresponde, dejas que todo lo demás te maneje a su antojo. Volviendo a la pregunta, ¿Qué tenía esa Melissa que no tiene la de ahora?, ¡pues nada! resulta que, dentro de ese pequeño porcentaje que está bajo nuestro control, entran los estudios: estudiar o no, así como mudarme a la ciudad, y hacer una nueva vida, todas esas decisiones y acciones dependían sólo de mi.

It turns out that within that small percentage that is under our control, studies come in: studying or not, as well as moving to the city, and making a new life, all those decisions and actions depended only on me.

En líneas generales y más en medio de la pandemia global que estamos viviendo, pocas cosas dependen de nosotros, si lo piensas bien tienes, pocas pero PODEROSAS, decisiones que sólo TÚ puedes tomar y puede que parezca que no surtan grandes cambios, por lo menos al inicio, pero tomarás el poder y la responsabilidad que te corresponden: alimentarte sanamente, realizar ejercicio, aprender alguna habilidad, desarrollar otras, ir creciendo y superarte a ti mismo diariamente, eso sólo lo puedes hacer tú por ti! piensalo! nadie más puede, por mucho que quieran ayudarte, bajar de peso por ti, alejarte de una relación tóxica por ti, aprender de tus errores por ti, aprender un idioma por ti, ser feliz por ti, estar tranquilo por ti, crecer como persona por ti, NADIE sólo TÚ. Todo esto más allá de querer frustrarte, porque si pasa, la idea es recordarte que siempre siempre podrás decidir por ti y para ti: hacer tu mejor esfuerzo para una entrevista de trabajo, depende de ti, prepararte, estudiar si tienes oportunidad, alistarte con tu mejor ropa, ir con tu mejor actitud, depende de ti; que te den el empleo, lamentablemente, no depende de ti, pudiste no caerle bien al entrevistador, pudiste competir con personas que estaban recomendadas o simplemente pudiste haber ido un día en el que el entrevistador no estaba concentrado y te dejó ir y asi hay miles de factores que influyen diariamente en nuestro entorno; pero aún podemos hacer algo: elegir cómo pensar, cómo enfrentar las situaciones, los retos, tu actitud, tu paz interior eso lo decides tu! y quizá, como te dije arriba, siguiendo con el ejemplo, todo esto aún no te consiga el empleo que deseas pero estas mas fuerte, mas calmado, estas tranquilo por que sabes que de lo poco que podías controlar, lo tomaste con ambas manos y diste lo mejor de ti, porque sí, por madrugar no amanece más temprano, pero yo decidí que quiero estar lista para el amanecer. Think about it! nobody else can, no matter how much they want to help you, lose weight for you, get away from a toxic relationship for you, learn from your mistakes for you, learn a language for you, be happy for you, be calm for you, grow as a person for you, NO ONE but YOU. All this beyond wanting to frustrate you, because if it happens, the idea is to remind you that you can always decide for you and for yourself: make your best effort for a job interview, it is up to you, prepare yourself, study if you have the opportunity, get ready with your best clothes, go with your best attitude, it is up to you; getting the job, unfortunately, is not up to you, you could have not liked the interviewer, you could have competed with people who were recommended or you could have simply gone one day when the interviewer was not focused and let you go and so there are thousands of factors that influence our environment daily; but we can still do something: choose how to think, how to face the situations, the challenges, your attitude, your inner peace that is up to you! And maybe, as I told you above, following the example, all this still won't get you the job you want but you are stronger, more calm, you are quiet because you know that from the little you could control, you took it with both hands and gave the best of you, because yes, for getting up early it doesn't get up earlier, but I decided I want to be ready for the sunrise.
