However, due to health and other personal issues we were unable to do so. We sincerely apologize for this. Of course, this will in no way prevent us from addressing the very important topic we have prepared for you. Therefore, and with all due respect, we want to dedicate these remaining days of the month to this sensitive issue. It is no secret that, sadly, bullying cases are on the rise and that many times they are not talked about or reported by their victims (due to several factors that we will expand on later). ##### But, **what is bullying or school harassment?** It is any kind of annoyance, aggression or mockery that a person or group of people do to a child or adolescent. It is done in a conscious way, that is, deliberately trying to scare, frighten, frighten, ridicule, ridicule, subdue or humiliate the victim. Commonly the person who does this is someone the child or adolescent knows, is close or close to him/her, sees him/her always or from time to time. In general, they are people who are dedicated to study their prey to find the right moment when they are alone, more vulnerable or weaker and then attack. And although in many occasions they resort to physical aggression, normally the attack can be verbal and subtle and then shield themselves by saying that they are just jokes, that the victim is just exaggerating, is very sensitive.

Por eso, y con todo respeto, estos días que nos quedan del mes queremos dedicárselos a este sensible asunto. Para nada es un secreto el hecho de que, tristemente, los casos de acoso van en aumento y que muchas veces no son hablados o denunciados por sus víctimas (debido a varios factores que estaremos ampliando luego). ##### Pero **¿qué es el bullying o acoso escolar?** Es cualquier clase de molestia, agresión o burla que una persona o grupo de personas le hacen a un niño(a) o adolescente. Se hace de una manera consciente, es decir, queriendo adrede asustar, amedrentar, atemorizar, ridiculizar, someter o humillar a la víctima. Comúnmente el que hace esto es alguien que el niño(a) o adolescente conoce, es cercano o allegado, lo ve siempre o cada cierto tiempo. En general son personas que se dedican a estudiar a su presa para buscar el momento adecuado en que esté solo(a), más vulnerable o débil y entonces ataca. Y aunque en muchas ocasiones recurren a la agresión física, normalmente el ataque puede ser verbal y sutil para luego escudarse diciendo que son simples bromas, que la víctima solo exagera, es muy sensible.

The educational staff, maintenance personnel and others who work or study there can ensure the safety of the students. - Neighbors or acquaintances: when children or youth go out to play in the neighborhood, are at a "friend's" house, are invited to a place near or far from home; these are moments that could lend themselves to bullying. - Relatives: an uncle, a cousin, a brother and, unfortunately, some parents can be a source of annoyance, mockery and aggression towards a child. They would do it if they do not take seriously the complaints of their children if someone does not make them feel good or, for example, if they say things like: *"Don't leave you and that's it...", "You have to be stronger or more manly", "You are a jerk, defend yourself", "If they did that to you, it must be for something".* These phrases could generate even more insecurities and fear in the assaulted or more violence among those involved. Undoubtedly, bullying is a terrible plague that every day floods not only schools, neighborhoods and homes but also work environments and adult life. Yes, that's right, **adults can also suffer bullying**; sometimes in their workplaces (by their bosses and/or peers), in universities or by other adults who like to "joke" about anything concerning the affected person.

##### Los principales abusadores pueden ser o se pueden encontrar en: - De la misma edad de su víctima o mayores que él: No hay edad para el bullying. Básicamente cualquier persona podría ser un agresor, de allí que los adultos responsables de los niños, niñas y adolescentes deben estar muy pendientes a las mínimas señales de que su hijo sea un abusador o abusado. - Congéneres que asisten al mismo colegio: Las horas del recreo, cuando el patio de la escuela se va quedando solo o hay un sitio solitario al que pocos le prestan atención, un salón de clases vacío, el baño o cerca de él son los lugares favoritos de los abusadores. El personal educativo, de mantenimiento y otros que laboren o estudien allí pueden velar por la seguridad del alumnado. - Vecinos o conocidos: cuando los niños o jóvenes salen a jugar en el vecindario, están en casa de algún “amiguito”, les hacen alguna invitación a un sitio cerca o lejos de casa; son momentos que podrían prestarse para que aparezca el acoso. - Familiares: un tío, un primo, hermano y, lamentablemente, algunos padres pueden ser fuente de molestia, burla y agresión hacia una criatura. Lo harían si no toman en serio las quejas de sus hijos sobre si alguien no los hace sentir bien o, por ejemplo, si le dijeran cosas como: *“No te dejes y listo…”, “Tienes que ser más fuerte o más hombrecito”, “Tu si eres gafo, defiéndete”, “Si te hicieron eso por algo sería”.* Estas frases pudieran generar aún más inseguridades y temor en el agredido o más violencia entre los implicados. Sin duda el acoso es una plaga terrible que cada día inunda no solo las escuelas, los vecindarios y los hogares sino también los ambientes laborales y la vida adulta. Sí, así es, **los adultos también pueden sufrir bullying**; a veces en sus lugares de trabajo (por sus jefes y/o compañeros), en las universidades o por parte de otros adultos que les gusta “bromear” sobre cualquier cosa referente al afectado.

An unthinkable and unimaginable amount that are able to linger for a long time in the victim and make their life and memories very hard. **Some of them are:** - **Stress** - **Anxiety** - **Humiliation** - **Shame** - **Fear** - **Anger** - **Despair** - **Deep sadness** - **Helplessness** - **Frustration** - **Emotional pain** - ** Despair or Anguish** And that is precisely why this month we did not choose only one emotion, as in other months, because this type of act generates so many of them that including it in only one does not do justice to those who have suffered or suffer from it, nor does it cover all their feelings.

##### ¿Qué emociones y sentimientos se generan en alguien acosado? Una cantidad impensable e inimaginable que son capaces de perdurar durante mucho tiempo en la víctima y hacer de su vida y de sus recuerdos algo muy duro. **Algunos de ellas son:** - **Estrés** - **Ansiedad** - **Humillación** - **Vergüenza** - **Miedo** - **Rabia** - **Desesperanza** - **Tristeza profunda** - **Impotencia** - **Frustración** - **Dolor emocional** - **Desesperación o Angustia** Es por eso que este mes no elegimos solo una emoción, como los demás meses. Porque este tipo de acto genera tantas de ellas que incluirlo en solo una no le hace justicia a quienes han sufrido o sufren por ello ni abarca todo su sentir.
