I hurried over to their site to find out more...
## A Mystery Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot of info available on the [Blockchan.com](https://www.blockchan.com) homepage yet. Next to a short promotional video and the message about being decentralized, monetized and uncensored, you can only find a signup form to stay up-to-date. https://youtu.be/xOXRV1BZyiw In the three blog posts that can be found on [the website](https://www.blockchan.com), there is not a lot of info provided either. It looks likes the platform will work under the same conditions as SteemIt. > Blockchan is a revolutionary, decentralized, social media platform, built on blockchain technology. To be specific: we’re built on the Steem (STEEM) blockchain. > On Blockchan, everyone has the opportunity to monetize! Our users are rewarded for the value they bring. > We believe strongly in free speech, and so, on our platform, no one can ever be censored for speaking about their various beliefs. On the website, you can find a short introduction of the team, but that's about it. Founder appears to be fellow Steemian @niopomilia, who expressed to be a fan of SteemIt in his [introductory post](https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@niopomilia/4p41ix) two months ago. His partner, @stevenpomilia, describes himself on his profile as a 'Computer Programmer & Blockchain/Crypto Enthusiast'. ## SteemProjects On March 7th, the developers have submitted a project approval request to be listed on [Steemprojects.com](https://steemprojects.com/), which has been approved. ## Can It Compete? On several channels, the launch of the website and the mobile app is announced, but I couldn’t find any information on the exact date. On [SteemProjects](https://steemprojects.com/projects/p/blockchan/), the estimated launch date for the beta version is set to April 1st. ![launch date.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmNvjK3eTFZqgYgxaJwoBdHQ5ZHwxnHuhe3w4w4z98NYSZ/launch%20date.png) I will be keeping an eye out for this. I’m curious to know more, and to see how and if it will be able to compete with other Blockchain apps that were recently released, like for example [Steepshot.io](https://steepshot.io/).
