My fiancée came to Izmir for my sister's wedding years ago, and we fell in love with each other thanks to my sister's wedding. This is my girlfriend's second visit to Izmir and I want to show my Siir around every square kilometer of Izmir. By the way, I was looking for an excuse to write this travel article. I would like to thank @trliste team for encouraging me to write this travel article with the travel writing contest they organized. **Moment of Reunion ~ Kavuşma Anı**

My fiancée and I haven't seen each other for a long time. He lives in Diyarbakır and I live in Gebze. There are kilometers between us. Therefore, it is not easy for me to meet my girlfriend. Fortunately, we found an opportunity. My girlfriend went to Germany with the Erasmus+ Student Exchange Program last month. I know from what my girlfriend told me and the images she sent me, Germany is very beautiful. Anyway, after them, students from Germany also came to Turkey with an exchange program. The city they chose was Izmir. I am so happy about this situation that I cannot explain. We made our plans after the decision. My girlfriend and I set out from Gebze to Izmir from Diyarbakır. As far as I remember, I was waiting for him at the train station. This is Alsancak Train Station. >Uzun zamandır nişanlım ile görüşmüyorduk. Kendisi Diyarbakır'da yaşıyor ve ben de Gebze'de yaşıyorum. Aramızda kilometrelerce mesafe var. Dolayısı ile kız arkadaşımla kavuşmamız pek kolay olmuyor. Neyse ki biz bir fırsatını bulduk. Kız arkadaşım geçen aylarda Erasmus+ Öğrenci Değişim Programı ile Almanya'ya gitti. Kız arkadaşımın anlattıklarından ve bana attığı görsellerden biliyorum, Almanya çok güzel. Neyse, onlardan sonra Almanya'daki öğrenciler de değişim programı ile Türkiye'ye geldiler. Seçtikleri şehir de İzmir'di. Bu duruma o kadar sevindim ki anlatamam. Karar sonrası planlarımızı yaptık. Kız arkadaşım Diyarbakır'dan ve ben de Gebze'den İzmir'e doğru yola çıktık. Hatırladığım kadarıyla onu en sonra tren istasyonunda bekliyordum. Burası Alsancak Garı.

I think I hugged my girlfriend too much. I missed you so much. Thank you Erasmus, thank you Izmir. Anyway. We were both very hungry because we hadn't had breakfast yet. We held hands and started wandering the streets of Alsancak early on a Saturday morning. Then we saw a patisserie and ordered boyoz for ourselves. We really wanted my girlfriend to eat boyoz. While I ordered boyoz for my girlfriend, I ordered boyoz with tomatoes and kashar for myself. I was happy to have breakfast on this street with my fiancee. Even the taste of the tea I drink with it is completely different. :) >Sanırım çok fazla sarıldım kız arkadaşıma. Çok özlemiştim. Teşekkür ederim Erasmus, teşekkür ederim İzmir. Neyse. Henüz kahvaltı yapmadığımız için ikimiz de çok fazla acıkmıştık. El ele tutuşup bir cumartesi sabahının erken saatlerinde Alsancak sokaklarını gezmeye başladık. Sonra bir pastane gördük ve kendimize boyoz ısmarladık. Kız arkadaşımın boyoz yemesini çok istiyorduk. Kız arkadaşıma boyoz ısmarlarken ben kendime domatesli ve kaşarlı boyoz ısmarladım. Nişanlımla bu sokakta kahvaltı yaptığım için mutluydum. Onunla içtiğim çayın tadı bile bambaşka. :)

After breakfast, we continued to visit Alsancak. We continued walking along the promenade. The best thing about Izmir is that it has a coastal walking path where you can walk for hours. You can see fishermen and their fishing rods fishing by the beach. And Gündoğdu Square, where big ceremonies, concerts and rallies are held... >Kahvaltının ardından Alsancak'ı gezmeye devam ettik. Kordon boyunca yürümeye devam ettik. İzmir'in en güzel yanı saatlerce yürüyebileceğiniz bir sahil yürüyüş yoluna sahip olmasıdır. Sahil kenarında balık tutan balıkçıları ve oltaları görebilirsiniz. Ve büyük törenlerin, konserlerin ve mitinglerin yapıldığı Gündoğdu Meydanı...

This is one of the most popular streets of Izmir. The street, with its jewellery, book and antique shops, is almost like a shopping centre. I like here. Since I went with my girlfriend, it was a more meaningful street for me. I recommend you go with your girlfriend or wife. Women will love it here. :) >Burası İzmir'in en gözde sokaklarından biridir. İçinde takı, kitap ve antika dükkanları bulunan sokak adeta bir alışveriş merkezi gibi. Burayı seviyorum. Kız arkadaşım ile gittiğim için benim için biraz daha anlamlı bir sokak oldu. Kız arkadaşınız veya eşiniz ile gitmeniz öneriyorum. Kadınlar burayı çok sevecek :)

My girlfriend loved it here. He immediately ran to the book stores. Then the first shop on the right caught our attention. There were sweet design products here. If you want to watch the beautiful view of Izmir, the best place to go is Izmir Historical Elevator. We visited this elevator with all my friends who came to Izmir. Since the elevator was located high up and at the top of the hill, my friends and I climbed the stairs. However, I couldn't resist my fiancée and we took the elevator for the view. We were already very tired because we had traveled a lot during the day and we still had a few places to visit. Anyway, let's enjoy the view. I took photos of the information signs for the history of the elevator. You can review it. >İzmir'in güzelim manzarasını seyretmek istiyorsanız gideceğiniz en güzel yer İzmir Tarihi Asansör'dür. İzmir'e gelen bütün arkadaşlarımla bu asansörü ziyaret ettik. Asansör yüksekte ve yokuşun başında yer aldığı için arkadaşlarımla merdiven tırmanmıştık. Ancak nişanlıma kıyamadım ve manzara için asansöre bindik. Zaten gün içinde çok fazla gezdiğimiz için çok yorulmuştuk ve daha gezeceğimiz birkaç yer vardı. Neyse gelin manzaranın keyfini çıkaralım. Asansörün tarihçesi için bilgi tabelalarının fotoğraflarını çektim. İnceleyebilirsiniz.

Bu parfümü çantamdan eksik etmeyeceğim. Çikolatalar da çok lezzetliydi. Türk kahvesi eşliğinde yemeye doyamadım. :)

**Kemeralti Bazaar & Clock Tower ~ Kemeraltı Çarşısı & Saat Kulesi**

Yes, when I came to Izmir, I couldn't go without showing my girlfriend the Kemeralti Bazaar. I guess Kemeralti Bazaar is one of the oldest bazaars in Turkey. This bazaar is a huge shopping center spread over almost a neighborhood. There are shops selling a wide variety of products such as clothing, accessories, food, restaurants, perfumery, stationery and souvenirs on every street. People visit this place in droves. It gets very crowded, especially on weekends. I recommend you visit this place on weekdays. >Evet İzmir'e geldiğimde kız arkadaşıma Kemeraltı Çarşısını göstermeden gidemezdim. Kemeraltı Çarşısı Türkiye'nin en eski çarşılarından biri olduğunu tahmin ediyorum. Bu çarşı neredeyse bir mahalleye yayılmış kocaman bir alışveriş merkezi. Her sokakta giyim, aksesuar, gıda, restoran, parfümeri, kırtasiye, hediyelik eşya gibi envai çeşit ürün satan dükkanlar bulunuyor. İnsanlar akın akın burayı ziyaret ediyor. Özellikle hafta sonu çok kalabalık oluyor. Burayı hafta içi ziyaret etmenizi öneririm.

The main reason we come to Kemeraltı Bazaar is to drink pickle juice. Yes, we came to drink pickle juice. Actually, shopping was an excuse. When my fiancee's mother was pregnant with my girlfriend, she came to Kemeraltı Bazaar and drank pickle juice. Even though thirty years had passed, I knew my girlfriend missed this. My girlfriend and I were chatting about this all the time. At the first opportunity, I took him to the pickle shop and we drank our pickle juice. Please try. You won't regret it. :) >Kemeraltı Çarşısı'na gelmemizin asıl nedeni turşu suyu içmek. Evet, turşu suyu içmek için geldik. Alışveriş yapmak bahaneydi aslında. Nişanlımın annesi kız arkadaşıma hamileyken Kemeraltı Çarşısı'na gelmiş ve turşu suyu içmişti. Aradan otuz yıl geçmesine rağmen kız arkadaşımın bunu özlediğini biliyordum. Kız arkadaşımla bunun muhabbetini sürekli yapıyorduk. İlk fırsatta onu turşucuya götürdüm ve turşu sularımızı içtik. Lütfen deneyin. Pişman olmazsınız. :)

Then we decided to eat because we were very hungry. There was a place where I had eaten before. Deniz Yıldızı, this restaurant with its delicious kokoreçi and mussels, attracts a lot of attention. However, as far as I encountered at the cash register, customers were saying that their fish was very delicious. My girlfriend and I were not brave enough to eat fish, so we ordered kokoreç and mussels. If you want to visit here, be sure to visit Kemeraltı Bazaar. This restaurant is very close to Kızlarağası Inn. Like us, you can drink Turkish coffee at Kızlarağası Inn right after your meal. >Daha sonra çok acıktığımız için yemek yemeye karar verdik. Daha önce yemek yediğim bir yer vardı. Deniz Yıldızı adlı bu restoran, leziz kokoreçleri ve midyeleriyle oldukça ilgi görüyor. Kalabalığı görüyor musun? Yaklaşık 10 dakika kadar sıra bekledik. Burada hiç balık yemedim. Ancak kasada karşılaştığım kadarıyla müşteriler balıklarının çok lezzetli olduğunu söylüyorlardı. Kız arkadaşımla balık yemeye cesaret edemediğimiz için kokoreç ve midye sipariş ettik. Burayı gezmek isterseniz Kemeraltı Çarşısını mutlaka ziyaret edin. Bu restoran Kızlarağası Hanı'na çok yakın. Siz de bizim gibi yemekten hemen sonra Kızlarağası Hanı'nda Türk kahvesi içebilirsiniz.

Clock Tower... One of the most beautiful symbols of Izmir. Once upon a time, the meeting point. The historical clock tower that has witnessed many earthquakes, coups, occupations and many other events throughout the century. After spending some time at the Izmir Clock Tower, we went to Karşıyaka by ferry. We didn't stay in Karşıyaka for long. We returned to Alsancak again. Because we had a concert we planned to go to weeks ago. >İzmir Saat Kulesi'nde biraz vakit geçirdikten sonra feribotla Karşıyaka'ya gittik. Karşıyaka'da uzun süre kalamadık. Tekrar Alsancak'a döndük. Çünkü haftalar önce gitmeyi planladığımız bir konserimiz vardı.

Now we are in Alsancak. The concert is at the Historical Gas Factory. To this day, it's an amazing sound that both me and my girlfriend want to go to and are dying to hear live. The name of the woman with a magnificent voice is Selda Bağcan. The concert was legendary. Unfortunately, I cannot add images about the concert. Because they warned us before entering the concert area. Taking photos and videos was prohibited. Still, we enjoyed the moment. My fiancée and I made beautiful memories towards the end of the day and night. When we returned home at night, we had walked approximately 25 thousand steps. Bugüne kadar hem benim hem de kız arkadaşımın gitmek istediği ve canlı olarak duymak için can attığı inanılmaz bir ses. Muhteşem sese sahip kadının adı Selda Bağcan. Konser efsaneydi. Konserle ilgili görselleri maalesef ekleyemiyorum. Çünkü konser alanına girmeden önce bizi uyardılar. Fotoğraf ve video çekmek yasaktı. Yine de anın tadını çıkardık. Nişanlım ve ben günün ve gecenin sonuna doğru güzel anılar biriktirdik. Gece eve döndüğümüzde yaklaşık 25 bin adım yürümüştük. Biz çok yorgunduk.

The next day we had a family breakfast. Me, my fiancée, my mother and my father went to Şirince. I previously prepared a post about Şirince. You can find the post in question on my blog. Anyway. As you must have heard, Şirince attracted a lot of attention in 2012 du to the idea that the apocalypse would break out. We are in 2023, but local and foreign tourists are showing interest in Şirince as in 2012. >Ertesi gün ailecek kahvaltı yaptık. Ben, nişanlım, annem ve babam Şirince'ye gittik. Duymuşsunuzdur Şirince, 2012 yılında kıyametin kopacağı düşüncesiyle oldukça ilgi çekmişti. 2023 yılındayız ama Şirince'ye 2012 yılında olduğu gibi yerli ve yabancı turistler ilgi gösteriyor.

Since we arrived in Şirince very early, I think no one else had breakfast except us. We came here early because I was going to drop my girlfriend off in Eski Foça in the afternoon. We took our place in a breakfast room where the owner was very friendly and smiling. We had a nice breakfast. There were many kinds of products on the table. If I tasted one, the memory of the other remained. :) After having our breakfast, we went for a walk. Afterwards we returned home. We spent about 3 hours in Şirince. However, the clean air of the village and the delicious breakfast gave us energy. >Şirince'ye çok erken geldiğimizden sanırım bizden başka kimse kahvaltı yapmamıştı. Kız arkadaşımı öğleden sonra Eski Foça'ya bırakacağım için buraya erken geldik. Sahibinin çok cana yakın ve güler yüzlü olduğu bir kahvaltı salonunda yerimizi aldık. Güzel bir kahvaltı yaptık. Masada pek çok çeşit ürün vardı. Birinin tadına baksam diğerinin hatrı kalıyordu. :) Kahvaltımızı yaptıktan sonra yürüyüşe çıktık. Daha sonra eve döndük. Şirince'de yaklaşık 3 saat zaman geçirdik. Ancak köyün temiz havası ve leziz kahvaltısı bize enerji verdi.

There is always sadness at the end of every good thing. All our reunions end in separation. Here we are again in such a day. After returning from Şirince, we changed our clothes and set out towards Eski Foça. My girlfriend's brother and the Erasmus team were waiting in Eski Foça. The Erasmus team had planned a boat tour. Luckily, I got my fiancé to the boat before the boat left. Actually, I didn't want him to go, but we can't intervene in some things. I am sad. I hope I will regain my poetry before too long. I miss you already. >Her güzel şeyin sonunda mutlaka hüzün vardır. Bütün kavuşmalarımız sonu ayrılıkla bitiyor. İşte yine öyle bir gündeyiz. Şirince'den döndükten sonra üzerimizi değiştirdik ve Eski Foça'ya doğru yola çıktık. Eski Foça'da kız arkadaşımın abisi ve Erasmus ekibi bekliyordu. Erasmus ekibi tekne turu planlamıştı. Neyse ki tekne hareket etmeden nişanlımı tekneye yetiştirdim. Aslında gitmesini istemiyordum ama bazı şeylere müdahale edemiyoruz. Üzgünüm. Umarım üzerinden çok fazla zaman geçmeden Şiirime tekrardan kavuşurum. Şimdiden özledim.
