A man's story.

I thought I was in love...For 18 months it was heaven. She was younger, beautiful and sexy. But there was a hidden side.
She was badly abused as a child, teenager and young adult by both parents. Psychologically by her mother and sexually by her father. I witnessed SOME of this abuse as I was an acquaintance of the parents.
Years later, she discovered I had divorced and confessed her undying admiration and feelings for me.
Being familiar with her and now deeply attracted to her I committed to a relationship with her.
As stated, the first 18 months were heavenly. Until the night she consumed alcohol in my presence for the first time.
Earlier in the day during a visit with her mother she was degraded by Mom, intentionally, and carried that animosity back to the relationship. Once somewhat intoxicated she began to belittle me, accuse me of disgusting falsehoods, and physically attack me.
I didn't know what to do as she would recognize my "hurt" and immediately apologize.
This is called GASLIGHTING!!!
I literally defended myself from her aggressiveness for over 6 months. She is responsible for my broken left eye socket, deafness in my right ear and a partially torn ACL in my right knee.
For anyone out there that doesn't believe MEN CAN BE ABUSED.....
TRUST ME.....THEY CAN!!!!
