The people of Aceh have their own customs or tradition in treating newborn children, "Peucicap" custom one of them.
Peucicap custom or tradition is to taste a variety of flavors to the baby and this is usually done on the seventh day of the baby born, which is accompanied by "Cuko Oek" (shaving hair) and the naming of the baby.
The "Peucicap" show is done by smearing honey, fruits, fish, meat and various other foods on baby's lips accompanied by prayer and hope with words so that the baby will grow up to be a pious child, devoted to both parents, religion, and nation.
Peucicap is a tradition that is increasingly rare. Previously I often hear this cultural ceremony, but have never witnessed the process. Luckily, I have had a son and I have practiced this tradition even though it is simple in my home.
