Physical characteristics, as reported on the website www.wwf.or.id:
- The Sumatran tiger has the body relatively small compared to all the sub-species of tigers living today.
- Adult males can have up to 60 cm high, and the length from head to toe reaches 250 cm, and weighing up to 140 kg. Tigress has an average length of 198 cm and weighing up to 91 kg.
- Skin color Sumatran tiger is the darkest of all tigers, ranging from reddish yellow to dark orange.
In August 2015, Salmin and Salman, two Sumatran tiger hunter arrested Indonesian Police, in a protected forest Gayo Lues, Aceh.
These hunters use traps when running the action. After the Sumatran tiger caught in a trap, and be killed and taken the skin, bones, and teeth fangs. They said, would sell it to Medan, northern Sumatra at a price of $ 11,210.76 USD.
