"Come On Lazy Bones, Go Outside!"
"Alright Dad, calm down!"
It was a spur of the moment thing but me and Dad decided to go for a little walk around the Chilterns and make the most of the sunshine seeing as the days are now getting really short with the clocks going back in the UK.
We normally have a route that we do but we decided to mix it up a bit this time round, which, for us, is pretty extraordinary! Here's the route we took:

To The Countryside!
Starting at the former Red Lion pub by the Penn pond, we make our way past the farm and into the countryside where the sun presented itself, along with my most viewed part of the Chilterns:

We carried on the footpath you see, passed the other walkers (these were the only other people we saw on this route) and another awesome view presents itself:

Following that path, we decided to head up towards those trees and it was worth going up the short hill, despite feeling a slight tug with the brisk northerly winds blowing the cobwebs away:

Carrying on the path, we entered the woodland and ended up at The Crown pub, which does pretty good food so if you're after a very nice roast or Fish & Chips, definitely pop in! It isn't quite as oldie-worldy on the inside as it used to be but still has those low hanging beams and snug feel, despite being more of a Gastro-Pub now. They also have deals on Wednesday & Thursday for different British or Indian style dishes:

The last place we stopped to view was a hidden gem of a view of the North Downs as we made our way back to our start point. When this opened up we had to stop and take a look:

So there you have it, a cheeky 2.4 mile (~4km) walk in my local village to get the blood pumping and now it's time for lunch!
Catch you soon
