Watch out, Amsterdam! We’re here!

(Or, I should technically say, “We’re ba-ack!”)

Set out from home at 06:something and arrived at Birmingham airport. Had breakfast, logged on to their Wi-Fi and settled in for a short wait.

Almost missed the plane! How on earth that happened, I don’t know… last ones onto the tiniest plane – it was so small, it was almost a private jet!

The plane was also old… I couldn’t quite figure out whether it was because the plane was so small or because it was so old that the toilet was on the outside…

I was joking about the outside toilet!

And on to Amsterdam!

Landed safely (obviously) and made our way down to the integral train station. Pre-booked tickets made for a simple journey. An old lady with an old Pekingese dog in her handbag didn’t complain as we set ourselves opposite her on the train.

A few stops later, booked a 6 day Metro pass for tram and bus rides (€30 each) and a couple more stops later, we arrived opposite the Volkshotel where the #SteemFest is being held.

That looks comfy!

Booked in and I asked about other SteemFest people. “There are two over there who are with the SteemFest,” she said.

Hi @roelandp and @ned

So, now we’re settled in our room, I have time to write this.

I’m so sorry if you haven’t been able to make this SteemFest but I’m sure there will be more to come.

OK, so where do I sleep?

Just sitting down and thinking about this…

Three months ago I’d never heard of #SteemIt and now we’re in a different country, excited to meet other people with the common interests of writing and, of course, SteemIt.

Well, I can’t say I live a boring life…
