Collaboration has been the theme for both of these contests from day 1. I have a collaborative idea that I hope will be well received well by the winners (bottom of this article), but first lets discuss prize amounts and see who took 1st-3rd place.
We were able to pull together about 60 STEEM for the prize pool despite the market dip we are experiencing, however due to the strange flux in the STEEM/SBD ratio, I will be paying out the prize minimums in SBD as promised, and distributing the rest of the prizes in liquid STEEM. This will make things less complicated for those of you wanting to power up or cash out, and I would rather give the winners more STEEM than less SBD, so this just made the most sense.
Due to the importance of these designs, and in hopes that you guys will work together on my collaboration idea I will mention shortly, I have decided to throw an additional 15 STEEM into the prize pool out of my pocket. This comes to a total of 45 SBD and 30 STEEM in total prizes for this contest.
Picking first place was another tough call, and it honestly was almost a three way tie in my mind, and I am not the only person who thinks that. Ultimately this design was picked for first place for its font, overall appeal, and background. The GIF they made is also exactly what I imagined and then some. Great work again guys!

@edxserverus' fists around the Anarchy symbol is a fitting and well executed design concept for #anarchapulco. I absolutely love the symmetry and alternating sizes of fists. This show of power from the people could not be any more appropriate for the conference. The two GIFs that were created for this concept are also mind-blowing, and I am sure will be used by #anarchapulco promoters (myself included).

I was honored to have the privilege of this entry in the contest. @stateofanarchy created a custom anarchy symbol using the symbols for Alpha and Omega. This concept is extremely unique and is deserving of a reward from this contest. The @stateofanarchy documentary they are creating will be fully supported by this project moving forward. Thank you for such an amazing entry! How do we get some of these gold bricks in real life?! We cannot wait to touch base in Acapulco next year!
During the top five discussion, many Steemians mentioned to me exactly what I have been pondering ever since I saw these designs, "How can we combine these design concepts together?" Fortunately because we are all awesome open-minded Steemit artists, I believe this is a real possibility.
I would like to see the fists around the anarchy symbol from @edxserverus' design be combined with @themonkeyzuelans' design. I do not know if the fists should be over the ring around the "A", or be put in place of the ring around the "A". My concern is that I do not want the design to be too gaudy, so I guess we would just have to look at both versions to see what flows best. I really do like the circle around the "A" in @themonkeyzuelans' design though, it reminds me of a wave in the ocean, which is also appropriate for the conference.
I am also not opposed to the idea of using both designs separately, however I would really like to see this idea manifest first. After all, either by fate or coincidence, both @themonkeyzuelans' and @edxserverus' @tribesteemup designs will be featured together already, so it seems only fitting that both artists should be involved with this collaboration as well, seeing as how they both placed in the top two again. Are you guys down for this?
@stateofanarchy's design is super sick, and a part of me wishes we could use their version of the anarchy symbol for the "A" in the #anarchapulco design, however it is extremely important that the "A" in that word is actually an anarchy "A". As ridiculously awesome as their custom anarchy symbol is, I feel it may be too unrecognizable for the average person that would see it, and be a little confusing as a result. Of course I am also open to ideas about this if any of you have input, and either way will be supporting their project with this project (more on that later).
Thank you to everyone that entered both the @tribesteemup and #anarchapulco Steemit design contests. Honorable mentions go to @edurley, @baa.steemit, @holisticmom, @opiman, and @manuelruiz21 for creating superior designs in either event. I will be holding another design contest in the near future, but this contest will conclude the entries for the collaborative art projects we have been organizing. I will update all of you through my blog as progress develops on these fronts.
