Halloween Experiment: An Attempted Greetings Card Cover

Happy Halloween guys, today I did an experiment art since we had no work today. By the way, I'm a sales representative here in Taiwan, thanks to some issues recently I got suspended.

Anyways, I had an art experiment today with black papers. What a good timing it is, today is November 1 and I feel like hyping the atmosphere a little with my art here.

So today I used black paper canvass for my attempted Halloween greetings card cover. I don't know if people will like it but meh, I want to do some Steemit today so I better do post this. By the way, the new logo sucks! I like the old one more! We have free speech here right? LOL, don't want to offend anyone, just wanted to get this feeling out of me. I think Steemit is a good platform to express yourself, so, I'm okay?

With all of that said, I'll walk you now to how I made this Halloween card(cover).

Materials:
-black paper(cartolina) c:
-colored pencils ;D
-correction fluid XD
-pencil D:

So here is the black paper

I made a pencil sketch

I applied some orange colored pencils for the pumpkin face

Filled the face up

Filling up the face complete!

I then applied some yellow green pencils on the leaves and white pencil on the hollow parts. During this time, I feel like these pencils will work alone with applying different values of per color like yellow green to dark green. Usually it works good with that method but I underestimated the black canvass here so I realized something as I move on.

I then colored the vines with darker green and attempted to do some highlights on the yellow green color

Now I realized that the colors of the color pencils was so underwhelming cause of the strength of the black canvass.

The colored pencils just looks like a chalk drawing here. At that time I realized that using some metallic pens, metallic paint, white ink, poster paint, oil paint and other mediums that I do not know with strong colors would had worked better for this canvass.

I don't have any of those mediums so I thought of a good substitute, correction fluid. The lines isn't as good as you could do with it but it can still make things work. (:

I experimented with the hair and the hollow parts

I then lined those face outlines with the correction fluid. Its not impressive but it achieved the visibility for the piece, somehow I achieved something here so cheers!

I added the word Halloween

And applied more details on the free spaces so it will be in us. I hate unused spaces by the way.

And a one

And a two

And three, we're done, added the year so it can remind me that I made this card cover for Steemit, someday when I'm older.

I adjusted the brightness to remove the camera's flash flare with Photoshop

That is for today folks

Happy Halloween
