Sharing a piece of art done for me by Lee Bermejo with a little background on why this has been made into a Steemit post. While going through some comics and then into my personal collection of some art done for me by some pros, one such is the below piece of Morpheus done by Lee Bermejo. While I now confidently say it was Lee who did it, when I pulled it out, I could not for the life of me remember who drew it and the brain fart was killing me. I had it down to a few names I thought it was and just couldn't think of a way to figure out how I could make sure I knew who drew this. Then I remembered "Comic Art Fans" a website I have been to here and there but as not really a collector of original art like that, never really used the site. You know what, I bet you just want to see the piece, so here it is, and then some more text below it.
Bad ass, right? I love it. I hate I couldn't remember it was Lee who did it. Back to that actually, you can now find a Crypto Collectibles account on that Comic Art Fans because thanks to so many other great users sharing their personal pieces, I was able to find art by Lee around 2003 when I got this from him. From there I could match his signature, as parts of his signature art a bit different now than it was in this earlier era (an issue that was messing me up when I was trying to identify the artist). On top of that his style of sketch/drawing seems to have changed over time as well. So what does one do with bad ass art? You read @retro-room's post here and and spend one dollar and make it look nice on the hallway wall:
Total cost spent? $1.06 for the frame, Lee did the piece for free at a signing. I don't recall if it was near the end of the event or he could tell I genuinely wanted to see his style on Sandman or what, all I know is I will be kicking my own ass for the next week or so for forgetting who did the piece at all (not the first time though and probably won't be the last).
