An artist in the family

Refusing to look at the camera!

My brother didn't have any artistic bone in his body, till he got married to Carol. He wasn't academic, nor had the ambition to finish college, more so when he got married. Already in the last semester in college, he refused to finished it to the chagrin of our mom, both of our parents were teachers in their own right.

Carol's family

As with few families in our town who's got furniture-making business, her family were into wood-carving and furniture making, with Carol doing all their designs. After getting married, naturally, my bother had to learn the business, and make a living with Carol's help.

Her painting that's hanging in our kitchen.

Both raised their two kids with their wood-carving earnings...but it wasn't much. Due to an incident with this job, they decided to start a small business, renovating antique furnitures, furniture-making via orders and wood-carving. All these through Carol's initiatives, as my brother wouldn't have a clue.

These are Carol's designs and both did the wood work, commisioned by a parish priest in Vigan for its' church altar.
