Dear steamer
For the "Companions" project, I try to convince friends and people I've learned through social media to come across my lens. By editing the photos in Photoshop and painting with a wacom drawing board, I try to combine classic painting techniques with modern tools like a PC and a digital drawing tablet. Then the portraits will all be exhibited together in the exhibition 'companions'
With the "Companions" project, I try to start a kind of counter-movement against the extensive friend requests we receive through social media. Also during the painting process of the "companions" project, I'm studying how social media works, this through a blog and through the close-up 'soul's newspaper'
By combining social media techniques with digital drawing techniques, I try to reduce the digital and non-digital divide in my circle of friends. In order to increase social cohesion.
By searching for the possibilities of digital photo processing and digital painting, I try to find a connection with these modern techniques and classical painting.
This is the drawing thirteen of a series of 44
