Repurposing found items and translating them into various forms of art is one of my favorite things to do. I've been more protective and reluctant to share this art, but after a wonderful quick conversation with @everlove yesterday, I thought I'd throw some of my mixed media creations out there and share it with my Steemit friends and the great creative community here.
These companion pieces are an interpretation of modern sexuality and gender misinformation as represented through pop culture and the media throughout history.
The foundation for these pieces were old framed pictures I picked up thrifting and I used acrylic paint, clippings from magazines across history, various found objects, and sealed with Mod Podge.
I hope you can derive some meaning from these pieces as I did creating them. Please feel free to ask any questions or give me your feedback in the comments.
