Hello everyone, I hope you're well! Today I'm back with more dragon head drawings!
Firstly, the following several weeks I'll be very busy with my regular work, but I'll continue posting as often as possible. However, I might write less than usual, because preparing text takes me as long as my drawings. My thoughts and ideas are very sporadic, especially when writing. However, with patience and practice I manage to organize everything into more coherent posts. Also writing what I'm passionate about helps me greatly.
Today I was out of the home most of the day, so I found some time to finish a couple of pages in my A5 sized sketchbook. I'm trying to stick to as little projects at a time as possible and to finish everything that I get started on.
The drawing technique here is the same as usual, so I won't go into details other than the initial sketches. I mostly focused on pushing my design skills and tried out different sketching styles: round versus sharp shapes, decorative versus simple details and reptile vs aviary features.
After a full page of cute dragonswith huge eyes I moved on to more unusual ones that are in the first image. I didn't have Internet with me or references, so many of the concepts didn't turn out as I had planned. However, there are a few that I really like: No.50 and 56. Number 54 is great as well, but it looks more a like a cartoon bird than a dragon.
Veseryl (50)- an extraterrestrial creature that has a common ancestor with dragons. It communicates telepathically and gets it's nutrition from solar energy.
Rovely(56)- the most curious dragon. It loves collecting shiny objects especially metals. It has unusual ability to conduct electricity.
I plan to eventually draw at least a 100, possibly more. I already have two more pages of rough pencil sketches ready for inking for whenever I find time.
The bird and bat studies are also coming along nicely and I'm looking forward to sharing them with you as soon as they are finished. I draw slowly without any rushing as that way I can relax and the results are much more pleasing.
All of the drawing in this post were made by me, @kristyglas :)
Thank you for reading! ♡
Tips on improving your art posts
Which are your favorites dragons? I'll name them and give them descriptions, if they don't already have them.
