Brushes
With any art form there's a specific set of tools that are typically used. Brushes are typically hair, or foam for painters to create "painted" works. Digital painting has reinvented the idea of the brush by allowing parameters to be added, as well as custom stamps to be reproduced.
This drawing was produced digitally, and filled in with clouds to represent the skin tones and face. Cloud brushes can be used the same as any other type of brush, but they have this really special depth to them that I wanted to show off!

A Cloudy Vignette

The sky is the limit, no pun intended. What can you create with these magic brushes.
Surprises
What I love about painting with physical paint is that surprises happen. Things bleed, things mix in ways you don't expect, pens bleed, the slightest jolt of the hand or drip of paint can change how I work. Each surprise leads to the end result. I believe that with digital, and being able to undo, erase, do opacities and turn stuff into opacity makes the world much more controlled. But is it better? I think in ways it is good if you are stressed about making something perfect. I prefer actual paint for now, but that may change because it's faster and with all of the tools it is easy to still be experimental.
Steemians, what do you think of this piece. I could do a series of philosophers and dreamers as cloudy paintings.
