Das Sonnenlicht, das die Farbe von Blutorangensaft hatte, tropfte ihr in die brennenden Augen. Sie starrte auf den heiß strahlenden Himmelskörper und lauschte auf das Pochen in ihren Ohren, das alle anderen Geräusche verschluckte. In ihrer Kehle steckte rau, lodernd ein saurer Schrei, der sich nicht zu lösen vermochte. Ihr ganzer Körper war erstarrt, die rot geschwollenen Augen auf die Sonne gerichtet, die nackten Arme um die nackten Beine geschlungen. In dieser Position verharrte sie nun schon seit Stunden, sodass sich einige Stechmücken bereits auf ihrer zarten Haut niedergelassen hatten, um ihre Saugrüssel gierig hinein zu stoßen. Sie hatte nichts gespürt. Ihr Geist war ein verschlungenes Band der immer gleichen Gedanken, die sie immer wieder erbeben und angstvoll vor und zurück wiegen ließen. Als sie die Augen schloss fand sie sich eingewebt in die vertrauten Muster des Waldes. Mit dem ruhigen Atem entwich die Schwere aus ihrer Brust.

The sunlight, which had the color of blood orange juice, dripped into her burning eyes. She stared at the hot-radiant heavenly body and listened to the throb in her ears that swallowed all the other noises. In her throat was a harsh, burning sherry, which could not be solved. Her whole body was frozen, the red swollen eyes directed toward the sun, her bare arms wrapped around her naked legs. In this position, she had been standing for hours, so that some mosquitoes had already settled on her delicate skin to thrust her sucking-pipe greedily. She had not felt anything. Her mind was a tangled bond of the ever-same thoughts, which kept shaking her back and weighing fearfully back and forth. When she closed her eyes, she found herself intruded in the familiar patterns of the forest. With her calm breath the heaviness left her breast.
