The last photograph of this partial zigzag sequence (from top to bottom and from left to right) was taken by my three-year-old son.
Fue ayer.
Por ahora, es un recién nacido.
Este tipo de criaturas, acabadas de nacer,
suelen mantenerse en un ensueño
de sol a sol
–sueñan despiertas, en blanco y negro–.
Parpadean de vez en cuando, nada más.
Mientras tanto, todo su ser
palpita al ritmo de la Tierra
y absorbe la energía que envuelve
las raíces de las Papayas.
Chuponni, a ratos, levita,
hasta conseguir un lugar más alto
donde posarse para admirar el paisaje.
Después desciende nuevamente
a palpitar y alimentarse.

Chuponni, the Papayas' little gnome, arrived almost unannounced.
It was yesterday.
For now, he is a newborn.
This kind of creatures, just born,
usually stay in a daydream
from sun to sun
–daydreaming, in black and white–.
They blink from time to time, nothing more.
Meanwhile, his whole being
throbs to the rhythm of the Earth
and absorbs the energy that envelops
the Papayas' roots.
Chuponni, at times, levitates,
to get a higher place
