Here is my post for @juliakponsford Art Explosion Challenge! The theme this week would be Conspiracy and i thought of doing one about Apollo 11 and the landing of the moon. Many people say that the moon landing was a staged event, with the tension of the cold war going on and the nuclear arms race going strong, Stanley Kubrick was supposedly the person appointed to direct the moon landing with his expertise. If you have not seen any of his films, some of his classics such as Space Odyssey 2001 and The Shining are some of his important work, which also apparently showed clues to why the moon landing was a staged event. Apart from that, these movies are good to watch either way, without all the conspiracy knowledge floating in the air.
Conspiracy 2 me
For me the word Conspiracy has more of a meaning towards alternative news. As far as I can remember, my older brother showed me about the conspiracy of the 911 terror attacks through Youtube videos and some other sources. What i took out from it all was just alternative concepts that are shown away from the traditional media, which kickstarted a different curiosity, encouraging me to also pick wisely what I choose to believe etc. Furthermore, It also made me have a better relationship with my older brother just by having something to share and discuss about. Away from all of this I feel like sometimes we are too fixated about the word Conspiracy rather than trying to understand the world we live in. After all it is all about truth and we are all seeking for it :)

About the Song
I wanted to keep the song a little bit creepy, almost sounding quite dis-jointed and away from traditional melodies that i usually work on. With the use of some piano stab samples, sounds from the Apollo 11 moon landing, I blended it together to create a tense atmosphere, highlighting the severity of faking a moon landing. The melody of someone singing out of key with the piano melody, gives this ambiguity of what the melody really is, making it sound outer worldly. Lastly, I added a melody from my Roland Juno 60 to add an extraterrestrial touch to it, which evolves as the song goes on, almost as if the further you get away from earth the stranger it looks. P.S if you haven't checked out the Roland Juno 60 please do, one of my favourite piece of gear tho i still need to get it fixed properly :)
But after all that has been said, the process for me was just fun and I almost did not think about all these concepts till only after making the song and having to make sense of it! So here is the beat and I hope you enjoy :)
