Today me and my mom made "bakin kolac" which literally means "grandma's cake" and it is made in a waffle maker that has this heart shape as you can see in the video.
These turn out more as of cookies rather than a cake and I remember my mom made these often when I was a kid. We usually eat then on their own but I've tried them with spreads similar to Nutella and it was delicious.
For this recipe we used:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of vegetable oil
- 1 cup of milk
- a little bit of baking powder
- flour - as much as needed to get a consistency not too liquidy, not too thick (I really don't like when recipes say this because I never know when it's right lol)
Combine eggs and sugar and mix them using a hand mixer. Add milk, oil and baking powder and stir until combined. Start adding flour until you've reached the desired consistency. We used this big utensil to pour the mixture in the middle of the waffle maker and baked it for 2-3 monutes each - this depends on the waffle maker and the settings.
This was an easy recipe and even though you have to take some time to sit next to the waffle maker until all the mixture is gone, I actually enjoyed it, sipping on coffee and chatting to my mom. It was also something nice to have after Sunday lunch and my niece and nephew also loved munching on these cookies.
I hope you all had or are having a wonderful Sunday! Thanks for watching/reading! :)
