It is one of the most spectacular tourist destinations that you can visit on the Isla de Margarita, it is generally recommended to people who want to know this paradise, to do it by means of an excursion. Frailes Island is made up of a set of five islands and four desolate boulders, located ten nautical miles off the northeast coast of Margarita.
Through the Guacuco beaches, the tyrant, the water or parguito, you can see island Frailes at a distance. These islands are very solitary, since they have approximately 20 or 30 inhabitants, all of them dedicated to fishing; however with the passing of the day this amount can increase thanks to its visitors.
Los Frailes is composed of five islands, the largest is the island Fraile or Puerto Real, located northwest of the island are Cominoto and Chaure islets, and finally to the northwest of Fraile is located the Morro de la Pecha and Morro Blanco. It should be noted that Los Frailes is formed by volcanic and subvolcanic rocks, has great aridity and access is difficult, only the island Fraile is easily accessible and it is by means of one of its beaches, this located in the western part of the island .
Its sandy soils of resplendent white color are quite characteristic due to the abundant salt content and in certain flat areas there is a small development of a large lime content. It presents a vegetation dominated by creeping and herbaceous; besides the xerophile, mangroves, among others. You can see beautiful birds furrowing the blue sky and some species of reptiles. Its waters are crystalline ranging from turquoise to intense blue.
