We go past the Sea Salt and Vine cafe in Scarborough on the Redcliffe Peninsula (Australia) multiple times a week on our morning walks and yet we had never stopped to have breakfast there........until today.

We finally fulfilled the promise we'd been making to ourselves for a very long time and now we know why the Cafe never seems to be short of customers, especially in the weekends.

The cafe is situated along the waterfront with expansive views of the picturesque Scarborough Harbour to enjoy 24/7. The cafe is owned by Doug and Sue Galvin and their daughter Georgie. They have had a passion for hospitality for many years and when the opportunity arose to do just that they embraced it with enthusiasm.

This prime position is undoubtedly the main draw card for diners but the friendly atmosphere, the great food and the wonderful service ensures that it is kept busy with happy customers returning on a regular basis.

Sea Salt & Vine cater for large groups for special occasions and for individuals looking for a peaceful environment, a picturesque setting and great service. Their menu features contemporary, Australian cuisine.

It is a pet friendly environment with water bowls placed in a few areas so that dogs may quench their thirst whilst their owners do the same.

Mature trees offer shade on hot summer days but large sun umbrellas are also available for extra protection. The suburb of Scarborough is located on the northern part of the Redcliffe Peninsula and is known for its thriving seafood industry.

The Scarborough Boat Harbour is just a short distance from the Sea Salt and Vine Cafe and the Moreton Bay Boat Club is only a short walk away.

Further up the road is Morgan's Seafood Restaurant which is well known for providing customers with fresh fish sourced from the sea surrounding the Peninsula and accessed from the many prawn trawlers and fishing boats which come and go on a daily basis.

For diners who prefer air conditoning on hot days or heating for warmth on cooler days, the interior areas of the cafe are very inviting with a comfortable, homely vibe.

I ordered a cappoccino.

John preferred a glass of fresh orange juice. Just look at those cute, nautical themed straws. How appropriate!

*I ordered Eggs Benedict with salmon. John chose Eggs Benedict with bacon. (Refer first image.) *

John read the Sunday paper provided by the cafe owners. I picked up the monthly Redcliffe guide and approximately one hour later, we decided to walk back home to decide how we would spend the rest of our Sublime and Beautiful Sunday.
