Today chicks hatch from our turkey Aza.
In this regard, we had to give up all the business and quickly install a fence for the kids.
Turkeys are very good parents and protect their chicks well. But we have special circumstances. In the yard there are too many other inhabitants who are not averse to "eating" chicks. And it's not just cats. The turkey can easily cope with a cat. But...
Storks are a serious threat to chicks.
And also crows.
Of course Aza and turkey Kuzma (their father) will be able to protect the kids, but there is always a risk that the chick can be outdone from parents. We have counted thirteen kids so far! It's not easy to follow everyone.
That the chicks do not jump out of the fence and that no one of the storks put their sharp beak on the fence, we hung a small net over the fence.
