How well can Mothers Protect their unborn Babies, if Ultrasounds are causing Autism and we are not told.

Would any pregnant woman knowingly agree to an intervention which causes harm to her unborn baby?
Why is it that research that has been conducted is not being made public?
Surely it is every woman's right to know about the effects of all the interventions that are performed on her and her baby.

I decided to become a Doula after the birth of my first child, I realized how much mothers to be are not told about pregnancy and birth. No let me correct that, what they are told is very biased, it is mainly fear inducing and in no way empowering.
We need to be informed so that we can make informed decisions about any treatment that is offered to us, we cannot expect to be given all the information.
Women are expected to hand over the responsibility of their pregnancy and birth to strangers, to professionals as they are called. They are encouraged to hand over their power and take a back sit in what should be a rite of passage, a celebration not a series of medical interventions.

I have already touched on the subject of ultrasounds in a previous post. But today I came across an article in Midwifery Today, which talks about numerous studies and research done within the last 20 years or so. It is titled
Questions about Prenatal Ultrasound and the Alarming Increase in Autism
https://midwiferytoday.com/mt-articles/questions-prenatal-ultrasound/
And it was republished after first appearing in 2006.

I was aware of some of the risks of ultrasound but It is not something that is common knowledge and certainly not something that is shared with parents to be. As always money plays s a huge factor in whether or not we are informed and Obstetrics is the highest paid medical profession in the world today.

I will cover some of the things that it discusses. First of all it talks about the rise in Autism, in 1994 Autism Spectrum Disorder or A.S.D occurred in 1 in 10,000 births in 2006 it is 1 in 166. In the USA that raised to 1 in 68 births and in the U.K it is estimated that 1 in 86 primary school children has learning difficult's related to A.S.D.

The causes of Autism have been linked to Vaccinations, environmental toxins and maternal infections and also Ultrasounds.

Ultrasounds have been used in obstetrics for over 60 years and professionals continue to say to the general public that they are safe. However in 2006 Pasko Rakic, chair of Yale School of Medicine’s Department of Neurobiology conducted a study on pregnant mice that received ultrasounds and found that the brains of the offspring showed damage consistent with that found in the brains of people with autism. I certainly do not support animal testing and reading this certainly upset me, unfortunately I am all to aware that some people do like to receive the facts when it comes to information.

I have never agreed with Ultrasounds, for one because of the fact they are heating up the baby and also because of the sound that is forced on them, all for the sake of a clear image of them in the womb. In the article above they talk about other research that was conducted in 2001 when a ultrasound transducer was aimed directly at a miniature hydrophone that was placed in a woman's uterus and the sound recorded was as loud as a subway train approaching a station.

But most worrying, is definitely the thermal effects, as stated in this article:http://www.wikiecho.org/wiki/Biologic_Effects_of_Ultrasound_and_Safety

The biological effects of ultrasound energy are related primarily to the production of heat. Heat is generated whenever ultrasound energy is absorbed, and the amount of heat produced depends on the intensity of the ultrasound, the time of exposure, and the specific absorption characteristics of the tissue. As much as 70% of the total temperature increase associated with ultrasound occurs within the first minute of exposure [2], but temperature continues to rise as exposure time is prolonged.

As the FDA warned in 2004,

ultrasound is a form of energy, and even at low levels, laboratory studies have shown it can produce physical effect in tissue, such as jarring vibrations and a rise in temperature.

Our bodies have built in methods that regulate our core body temperature, we shiver when we are cold and sweat when we are too hot. The Foetus cannot cool down, and during the 3rd trimester the baby's skull can heat up to 50 times faster then the surrounding tissue, this can subject parts of the brain to secondary heat even after the ultrasound has been completed.

On top of all that 3D and 4D Ultrasound scans are available now and take a lot longer and are far more intense. Just so they can get the high definition images that they advertise, exposing babies to higher temperatures and sound for longer. People are paying for this service , without knowing the risks to their unborn babies.

When it comes to any contact with the health system, it is our right to know the effects of any treatment.
But we must realize that the only people who are working in our best interests are ourselves.
We need to be informed, we need to take back responsibility for our bodies and always, always ask questions.
We now have so much information available to us online, and being on Steemit we can share what knowledge and empower one another.
