Arizona could become the first US state to accept tax payments with BTC

The state of Arizona (USA) could become the first in the United States to legally accept bitcoin for subsequent tax payments.

The possibility of paying taxes with bitcoin is due to two bills promoted by five representatives to the Senate, headed by the Republican Warren Petersen. It is the first legislative project to legally establish bitcoin as a payment method. The project (SB1091) allows opening the option for Arizona taxpayers to pay their taxes with bitcoin.

The proposal states that not only can pay with bitcoin, but with litecoin, ether or any cryptocurrency "recognized", establishing that after the payment made will be the state who is required to convert cryptocurrencies to US dollars

A taxpayer can pay his income tax liability using cryptocurrencies such as bitcoin, litecoin or any other cryptocurrency recognized by the department using peer-to-peer systems. The department will convert cryptocurrency payments to US dollars at the prevailing rate after receiving and crediting the taxpayer's account with the dollar amount.
