In case you missed the last entry on the weekend, you can find it here @zekepickleman/white-belt-curriculum-installment-3 finishing up self defense.
This week, we will get into the guard position and details. This specific class goes into how you should behave when you are in someone else's guard.
Though I have been training a few years, I still find things that I missed or glazed over or forgot. A few key takeaways I liked from this lesson:
- Getting someone in your closed guard is good for sport jiu jitsu, and only neutral in self defense and MMA.
- Constantly thinking where am I and what should I be doing?
- Standing is a good way to break the guard no matter the body type of your opponent.
- Again!
Let me know what you think!
