:D
Quality content is subjective. Quality does not have to equate with meeting a standard (of appearance, erudition, scholarship etc etc). Unless perhaps 'Quality' be defined objectively - however, this looks suspiciously like a process of defining something that may relate to an individual's, or a group's, subjective preferences.
Robert Pirsig went nuts trying to understand, dissect and explain 'Quality' in Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance lol.
Quality being subjective, I can only speak for my take on my stuff:
- I know when I am 'satisfied' with a post ie when it is 'ready'. I generally do spend a lot of time on posts and I thoroughly enjoy the creative process. I do not rush, nor do I follow a schedule or plan as such
- I am most satisfied with posts that express what wanted to be expressed, without taking any particular audience into consideration. If I am happy with a post, I care not who, if anyone at all, reads it. This is not a 'fuck you reader' approach - I also spend time polishing for clarity and to edit out moans, groans and other heavy sounds of self-pity, blame etc lol.
- Focussing on 'growth' or 'earnings' distracts from authentic expression - which gets tailored, stitched up differently (perhaps with a great deal of monetary success - eg the second-highest rep account on Steem!). Earnings and growth are a natural by-product and I spend little of my time and energy thinking about them
- The much slower speed of growth is not an issue for me. I am an introvert and do not look for engagement over and above what falls spontaneously into my awareness when I am in the mood. I do not mind engagement and some of it is very pleasant
- I am open, always open to learning, I can start from a position of 'I don't know!'. I do not need feedback by way of stroking or praise, although this is pleasant and often unexpected - I know when I have produced something of 'Quality' (authentic, original, true-to-myself), regardless of layout-appearance or reception (acceptance/rejection), and regardless of my inability to define what 'Quality' may be.
With regard to perceived quality in the posts of others on the blockchain, again, subjective and without formula. The wonderful thing about blockchain multimedia blogging is the range and variety of creative potential we have at our disposal - this may take any form, short or long.
To have earnings/growth etc at the forefront of my mind would dilute creativity - I am aware of these factors and I welcome them, but they do not drive my blockchain car. Since experiencing the above 'reversal' of priorities, I have been enjoying blockchain life a lot more :)
People state and say many many things about this and that, much of it expressed as dissatisfaction. I think that if I can accept my own shit (tokens and all lol), then I am closer to not being knocked off balance by anyone else's 'shit' (pretty or ugly). Conversely, if I have some level of dissatisfaction with my own stuff (life, blog, growth blah blah), I am likely to project this outwards and find some blockchain bones to pick apart for this mysterious substance called 'Quality'.
