How to Get an Upvote from the Busy bots (@busy.org & @busy.pay)

There are many things to love about Busy. From its impressive layout, to its notification feature, to its ability to save drafts, posts and bookmarks, the activity log with filter fields, the market price widget and many more. Name whatever you want and Busy would probably add that feature for you because they listen to the users using their services. To top things off, Busy takes 0% in author rewards unlike any platforms, there literally is no downside in using Busy.

Apart from all these awesome features, what lured most people to Busy are its bots. The Busy bots would boost any post that would meet their criteria. You read that one right, there is a criteria and not everyone would get a boost from the bots. If you have ever wondered why you are not getting any, then you should check below as to see why.

To get an upvote from the Busy bot @busy.org you need to:

- Post from busy.org or staging.busy.org

It goes without saying that your article or post should be posted within the Busy platform.

- Include the "busy" tag or topic.

The tag/topic busy does not necessarily have to be the first one in your list. It could be in the second or even the fourth in your list of tags, the order does not matter as long as busy is included.

- You need a minimum of 20,000,000 Vests (~10,000SP) following you

The most important and the most overlooked thing here is this. The Busy bots are bots made for people who have influence. People who are followed by many people, by *real *people, by people who have power. If I am not mistaken, delegated SP does not count, only natural SP.

But how would you calculate the cumulative natural SP of all your followers? Thanks to witness @jesta , there is now an easy way to know that. Just head over to the url below and replace my username jlordc with yours.

https://steemdb.com/api/accounts?account=jlordc

Scroll down until you see followers_mvest or Ctrl + Find it. That is the natural vests of all the people following you. If you have a vest greater than 20,000,000 then you are qualified for a busy.org vote.

- The Bot has a 12 hour delay in between

To avoid abuse, all users can only be upvoted a maximum of two times a day provided that there is a 12 hour delay in between the posts.

My followers have 20Mvests and I only post rarely, why am I still not getting any upvotes?

It's not you, it's the Bot! If you are 100% sure that you qualify from all the things above, then the problem is not you but the Bot. There are possible reasons for this, ranging from maintenance, bot is recovering voting power, a node crash or lag or the bot still hasn't checked your post yet. There are way too many users now who use busy and most likely the bot couldn't keep up with all the users. All you have to do is just wait and pray.

With all Steemians continuously growing stronger, the minimum followers_mvest is continuously changed and monitored as not to drain too much of its voting power (I think). If you want to check if the minimum is still 20Mvests or it was increase. You could go ahead and check here:

But wait, there's more!

You've all probably heard about @busy.org, but did you know he has an older brother whose upvote worth is far greater than his. @busy.pay works the same way with @busy.org. However, it is aimed at influential people. Like really influential!. Unlike busy.org's minimum of 20,000,000 follower_mvest, busy.pay's minimum is set at 10,000,000,000 follower_mvest. If you're too lazy to count the number of zeroes, that's a wooping 10Billion vest. I don't have a code link like the one above but I trust @ntony's comment regarding this.

Don't have 10Billion vest? Pray to all Gods that somehow you get a random busy.pay upvote. Just this week it voted one of my post even though I have less than 10Billion vest. Which lead me to write this post. Something tells me that there is more to the algorithm into it. But having 10Billion follower_mvest would definitely increase your chances of getting an busy.pay upvote by a tenfold.

To recap:

  • The total natural Steem Power in vests of all your followers plays a big part whether you get an upvote or not. For busy.org, a minimum of 20M vests /~10K SP is needed and 10B vests for busy.pay.

  • Not all of your posts are guaranteed with an upvote. And that's okay. It's free. You have no right to complain.
