A number of states had their citizens vote today on the issue of the legalization of cannabis, and a number of them were successful in pushing forward with the legislation.
Arkansas legalized medical cannabis, along with Florida, and North Dakota. And the other states who voted to approve of recreational legalization of cannabis were California, Massachusetts, Maine, and Nevada.
Arizona voted against it, following a multi-million dollar campaign that was launched in order to try an defeat it. The measure lost in a final tally of 54 percent to 46 percent.
This means that a majority of the states in the U.S. are technically exercising civil disobedience against the federal government and its cannabis prohibition; by enabling either medical or recreational legalization of cannabis.
