This legendary French guy can still be seen in many European countries and even it the rest of the world. I think that the most of us see Renault 4 very often. Sometimes, we don't even notice it. This is an old timer, almost everywhere it can be found... except here in Croatia. People threat it as a wreck and it is unfairly placed in the same rank with Zastava's cars. But Renault 4 is much better and more reliable old car than any Yugo or Zastava 101. It is incomparable.
So, this is not #balkanos car but I placed that tag below because you can see a lot of these cars here. Many people are still using them, mostly old people. It is not unusual here to drive the same car for 30 years. Even more! But this legend can handle it!
Somewhere else in this world this car is appreciated as an old timer and you have to pay a lot of money to afford one. But this is not case in Croatia where you can fin it in newspaper advertisement under 200€.
If you take good care of this car it can be really grateful and look beautiful!
Renault 4 is first Renault's front - wheel drive car produced between 1961 and 1992. Back then, it was simple, economy car. In most cases, it has 2 or 4 doors but there are some van variations that have 5 doors.
Engine size can be 700 ccm, 800 ccm, 1000 ccm and 1100 ccm.

It can be very comfortable inside if you take good care of it. The gear shift is lifted and you can control the car more relaxed.
It can look decrepit and you can feel how it shakes when you are driving in it, but there is something beautiful in this old school vehicle. You feel like you traveled trough time when you're inside of it.

There were many special editions, limited edition and variants of Renault 4, from exotic Plein - Air to few different types of vans.

All I can see around are old rusty wrecks and I think that these cars are underestimated. They should be more appreciated, They deserved it!
They stopped to make Renault 4 when they started produce Twingo. They say that Twingo is successor of Renault 4, but I don't think that Twingo will be a legend as Renault 4!
