For the first time in this country in my lifetime, we are traveling down a road with an unknown ending. I traveled last year by bicycle for two months from New Mexico to Maryland and met people from many walks of life. It was amazing all the common ground I discovered even though part of my journey was advocating for prison re-entry programs (a subject not popular with the general public but once I started talking about reduced recidivism, costs and victimization - and hope - a conversation ensued - and positivity).
This election appears to have torn our country in two. I still believe there is common ground. But whether there will be a consensus as America moves forward remains to be seen.
The open road, isolating as it is, calls me, even though my voice will fade in the wind.
