30 day challenge
Today is day number 8, I have never been much of a writer. Having been here on SteemIt just over 2 month has been fun, so I though by joining this 30 day challenge I could find a way to get better at writing and work on being consistent in my writing. Well, the last few days have been so hard I keep wanting to just simply give up. I feel like I started something I am not going to be able to keep up. By my time zone I have posted daily. I feel very excited that I am able to even sit down and work on this post, being to make it for today I have less than 1 hour left till midnight.
Today I had to run back and forth from the store working on getting parts to fix the shower inside the house. Seems easy, and it was once I had everything. The first set of parts I got were to big, went back, and was able to find the right parts the second time. Well, next I learned the town home has the water shut off inside next to the water heater. After finding the turn off valve which the handle was broken off. I had to go back to the store to buy the tools to actually turn off the water.
After I returned home, the last time I set about working on getting the cartridge changed, I turned off the water, the house being old I was worried by the fact the cartridge was going to be hard to get out. I used the cartridge wrench I had bought, but to keep it from just turning and doing nothing I had to pull out the vise grip pliers. at last the cartridge was finally on its way out. The wrench stopped pulling the cartridge out.
I started thinking oh no, is something wrong. Started to back the wrench off, and I saw the old cartridge had moved out a bit, so I started to carefully pull it out by pulling on the wrench. To my utter surprise it came out smooth and easy, with out any further issues. I felt relieved that it had not broken.
I set about installing the new cartridge and slipped it into place, I thought hat was just way to easy. I decided to test out the work, I added the knob and turned on the hot water to see if it was working. Finally there was no water leak, I pulled the know and yes the water started poring out, as I turned the knob I started to realize it was set up backwards. Everything was working but the hot and cold were on the wrong sides.
Wanting to fix it, I flipped the cartridge around and tried again. Well, the same problem happened. This was not going to let me have the valve the way it had been. I had tried everything to fix it and in the end, running water no leaks, but hot and cold were reversed. I felt the project finally completed and a little bit of time left in my day to make a blog for the 30 day challenge, yet nothing I could do but have to live with the water valve opposite of what I had once been used to.
So I learned it was easy to fix the water faucet inside the shower. Thank you for reading.
