I'd like to participate @aaronli's photo contest of "A City a story", the theme of this week is "URBAN NIGHT" so I want to write about Shanghai this time. And also I'd like to join the project of @archisteem's "1001 Places to Remember", so this post is written by following the rules for both of them.
香港の@aaronliさんの写真コンテスト「ひとつの街にひとつの物語」に参加させて戴きます。今回は都会の夜というお題なので、上海について書いてみたいと思います。また同時に@archisteemさんの”1001の覚えていたい場所”プロジェクトにも参加したいと思いますので、このポストはどちらのルールにも沿って書かれています。
Shanghai is called "Oriental Paris" as a romantic city full of many outstanding Western-style buildings for traditional building enthusiasts. Also this area is called "Yuyuan Garden (Yoen)", a masterpiece of Chinese gardens and we can also see the traditional Chinese architecture.
In addition there's a area called "all country architectural exposition", it means there's lots of interesting architecture from traditional one to modern one, so it is one of the place people who is interested in acchitecture wish to visit at least one time.
I sometimes stopped Shanghai when I flied to EU, and when I have a time to visit central part of this city, I walk around by myself to enjoy the atmosphere, mixed culture and especially architecture.
東洋のパリと言われる上海は、伝統的な建物の愛好家にとって数多くの卓越した洋館が立ち並ぶロマンあふれる都市です。それと同時に「豫園（よえん）」と呼ばれる中国式の庭園、そして現代建築の巨匠たちが全力で作り上げた数々の傑作が集まる「万国建築博覧群」と呼ばれるこの区域は、建築に関心がある人は一度は訪れたい場所のひとつと言えるでしょう。
上海はヨーロッパへの乗り継ぎで何度か降りる機会があり、乗り継ぎ時間が半日ほどある時は、街の雰囲気や人々の往来、そしてこれらの建造物を楽しむために散策することがあります。
This is a area with a garden called "Yuyuan Garden" and where the Chinese-style buildings characterized by roof lines. There's many shopping stores are lined up on the first floor of these buildings. The garden is very near from these buildings, but it was a late afternoon so I couldn't visit at this time so I wish I could come back there once again.
こちらが「豫園」といわれる庭園があり、屋根に特徴がある中国式の建物が立ち並ぶエリアです。これらの建物の1階部分にはショッピングが楽しめるお店がズラッと並んでいます。この近くに庭園があるのですが、夕方頃だったので暗くてあまりゆっくり鑑賞できず残念でした。
And this is the area where Shanghai Tower and Shanghai Hills which is said as "the Mori Building Group of Roppongi Hills build a hill in Shanghai" are lining up. It seems we can enjoy the special views of Shanghai area from Shanghai Hills from the height of 472meters above from the sea level.
By the way I feel like this scenery is very similar with Tsim Sha Tsui in Hong Kong one, don't you think so...?
そして次は上海タワーや「六本木ヒルズの森ビルグループが上海にもヒルズを建てる」と話題になった上海ヒルズといった高層ビルが立ち並ぶエリアです。上海ヒルズは標高472mの高さから上海市街を一望できるそうです。
ところでこの景色、なんとなく香港の尖沙咀と似ていると感じるのは私だけでしょうか...？
The difference between Shanghai and Hong Kong is that we can see the classic Western-style buildings at the opposite side. The area where such Western-style stone building stands is called "The Bund" and this building built in the ancestral period was built from the late 19th century to the first half of 20th century. In addition, this group of buildings has been designated as "Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level" in 1996.
そして上海が香港と違う点は、その対岸にクラシックな洋館の建物がズラリと並んでライトアップされていることです。その美しさに目を奪われる人がたくさんいることでしょう。このような洋風の石造りの建造物が立ち並ぶ地域は「外灘（がいたん・わいたん）」と呼ばれ、祖界（そかい）時代に建てられたこれらの建物は19世紀後半から20世紀前半にかけての作品です。また、これらの建造物群は1996年に中華人民共和国全国重点文物保護単位に指定されています。
There's more attractive place to visit in Shanghai, so I'm looking forward to visit there again near future. Thank you very much for reading!
