The theme this time is "stairs", so I'd like to share for everyone some photos of Queens NYC where we can see so many high buildings with stairs outside of the wall.
今回のコンテストのテーマは「階段」なので、ニューヨークのクイーンズ区で多く見かけた外階段付きのアパートのことを書いてみたいと思います。
Queens is located on the east part of NYC where we can see some high old buildings like this photo.
ニューヨークの東に位置するクィーンズ地区では、このような高層アパートが立ち並ぶ地域がよく見られます。
All most every buildings has this kind of stairs on the outside of the wall. There's general stairs and elevators inside too, so these stairs are for emergency situations I guess.
そしてこれらの全てのビルには外階段が備えられています。室内には手すり階段、それからエレベーターも備えられていますので非常階段ですね。
The apartment I stayed was built in 1939. The elevator was very classic like this.
私が滞在していたアパートは1939年築とのことでした。ちなみにこちらがエレベーター。この扉が開いた後に中の扉が開くという、とてもクラシックなものでした。
The view from our room is like this.
部屋の中から外を見るとこんな感じです。
The window to go out was quite small
外へ出る窓は意外と小さいです
And the space was also small so was super scared😱
そして立つ場所は思った以上に小さくて足がすくみます^^;
I couldn't stay standing while taking photos toward stairs below
下を見るのには立っていられず座って撮影
This is quite steep
なかなかの急勾配です
I was satisfied with small shooting so I went back in the room from small window again
こうして少し撮影しただけでけっこう満足したのでまた小さな窓から中へ戻ります
Flight to or from JFK I guess...
たぶんJFK空港からの飛行機か、または向かう飛行機か…
Have you ever watched a movie withAudrey Hepburn, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" in 1961? The apartment in that movie is still at Manhattan since that time, but I feel like probably a little similar building with stairs like this... This is lovely movie and I like the scene of her singing "Moon river" at stairs so I really enjoyed the moment with stairs while staying this City... Thank you very much for reading :-)
皆さんはヘップバーンの「ティファニーで朝食を(1961年）」の映画を見られたことがありますか？ あの撮影はマンハッタンで行われたそうですが、彼女が「Moon River」を歌ったり上の階に避難？するのに使っていたのはきっとこんな階段だったんでしょうね。あの映画が少し身近に感じられるような気がしてNY滞在中はこの階段やその雰囲気を楽しんでいました。読んで戴いてありがとうございました＾＾
