釜山早餐的教训 Breakfast in Busan is a lesson

Going to a country where you have absolutely what they wrote on the menu, and the only language available for basic communication is sign language. To add that, you have absolutely no idea how their lifestyle is, it's a tremendous risk in ordering food. Hence, I have choosen this dish because it was one of the cheapest noodle on the menu. It only costs me 4300KRW. I have always been imagining good weather below 20'c and whacking a bowl of hot soup noodle, it would be a marvelous experience. And guess what do I get instead? When the dish was served, it's a cold noodle. My heart went shattered into billion pieces. The noodle taste more like our local wantan noodle, the gravy is sweet and salty with a pinch of spiciness. Fragrant of the sesame seeds in Korea appeared to be heavier than my home country. Can't say I enjoy this bowl of cold noodle, but it's a marvelous experience.

当你到外国去旅游时,最大的问题通常是饮食习惯。再加上一个国家的语言障碍,菜单上也没有英文字。跟服务员沟通的方法限于手势交流。在天气凉快的早晨来一碗热辣辣的汤面是我想试很久的事儿了。我看了一下餐单,然后选了最便宜的一碗汤面。然后,盛来的竟然是一大碗的冷面。我的心碎了!还能怎样?吃呀!话说回来,这面很像我们的云吞面。带酸和咸的冷汤,吃起来很有弹性。特别欣赏韩国的芝麻,特别香。我不太会欣赏冷盘,不能说好吃。但是大清早凉凉的天气吃着冷面当早餐真是另一番滋味。

As a consolation prize, the steam dumpling is really nice. Finally gotten something warm for the stomach at this really chilling morning. The filling is minced meat and chopped spinach. This, 4000krw. One would never guessed it costs as much as a set noodle meal for a plate of dumplings.

虽然对冷面有些失望,但是还是尝到了安慰奖。这一碟饺子实在是不错吃。蒸熟的饺子,包皮显得特别嫩滑。内涵是腌制好的碎肉和和菜,吃起来非常美味。就这么一碟饺子已经付了四千韩元。又有谁想到这么一碟饺子的价钱已经差不多一顿饭的价格呢。

After this meal, I learnt something new. In Korea, the food they served with stonewear, those are hot dishes. Whereas stainless steel wear, are usually cold dish. Next time I will be very careful selecting my food, instead of reading the pice tag.

这一餐得到了一个教训。在韩国,如果菜单上的图片里,食物是以石头锅/碗盛来的就是热的。但是如果盛着食物的是不锈钢,就是冷盘或是室温的食物。从这开始,选食物不可只注重价格!还要看用啥碗来盛。
