🎵 🔊 INCOMING PROPOSAL!: The FIRST Steemit house music MIX collaboration! Inspired by the #Wednesdayhouse movement!🎵 🔊

This week will mark a solid 7 weeks into the #wednesdayhouse series and every week it seems to be getting bigger and bigger with more people posting their favorite house tracks!

Every week i feel an absolute buzz clicking on the tag and seeing what people are listening to. The range of music is incredible. We've had tracks dating back from the late 80's, a huge array of styles from soulful and deep to electro and mainstream, even some ORIGINAL tracks posted on Dtube before official release (check out @mikenero & @andyjaypowell!)

So it got me thinking...

It awesome posting up and sharing our top tracks each week, but how epic would it be to actually create a 1 hour house mix within the community!?!

Never done before?

Well, at least not on steemit (as far as im aware!)

I remember back in tha day, when i used to be a member of djforums.com we did a similar thing across the forum with about 4/5 people. Since everyone involved was a dj we all had equipment to make it easy and each mixed 3 tracks of our choice before sending it on to the next person. The whole thing only took around 5 days to complete!

But im not a dj?

Because everyone who wants to participate might not a dedicated dj or have access to dj equipment, it might make things a little more tricky or at least a little bit longer to complete. Time is no factor, all good things come to those who wait! However if you dont have equipment to beatmatch your tracks, the great news is theres lots of software to choose from that can help you digitally with only a laptop needed. Virtual dj is i think the most user friendly option, or if you can get hold of ableton/traktor there is a bit more you can do with effects if you like getting technical! Since this is the first attempt, and the musical experience of people keen to get involved is unknown, TRAINWRECKS will be fully acceptable! :)

"A community should not try to achieve perfection. It has so many variables it will be full of imperfections, and to try and make things perfect would be pointless. Yet, in some weird ironic way, when we can accept our imperfections, and work together peacefully, alongside one another, we come to the conclusion that we are already perfect, in a completely imperfect way" - youareyourowngod

So whats the plan?

Well Stan, the plan is to:

  • Collaborate to achieve a minimum of a 1 hour house mix
  • Involve members of the steemit and #wednesdayhouse community
  • Go back 2 back (back 2 back 2 back 2 back....!) each adding your own individual sound (this can be a track produced by you or by someone else)
  • When completed, upload and share through utilising @Dtube and @Dsound
  • Have a sick time and share some absolute bangaaa's

I think the best way to do this would be to connect through http://steemit.chat and once you have mixed your track, upload and send the whole of the previous mix to the next person. Repeat. Slowly we will build it as each person adds their own input to the mix! I will organise the order of everyone involved beforehand so that people know who they will be getting the mix off and also try and create a bit of style and fluidity :)

To add an element of mystery i think we should keep our track selection to ourselves until the whole mix can be released!

Where do i sign up?

In the comments below! Just comment that you're in if you want to be involved and write the style of house music you would like to bring to the mix (disco, soul, funky, electro, deep, etc!) If numbers get crazy there may have to be a cutoff so get in early if you're keen!

One more thing...

Although #wednesdayhouse is the inspiration for this, i am not the man behind #wednesdayhouse! For that we have to thank @andyjaypowell for creating such a community effort and weekly bombardment of quality music! Cheers Legend!

If you have any idea's to add or change please feel free to write them in the comments! Alternatively if you dont fancy participating but you're interested in finding out more about the #wednesdayhouse series, you can find the original post here: @andyjaypowell/wednesdayhouse-do-you-also-love-house-music

Have a beautiful week legends!
