MassKara Festival is Bacolod's version of Mardi Gras celebrated in October and an annual festival with highlights held every fourth Sunday of October in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental, Philippines.
The word "masskara" came from the words: "mass" meaning multitude of people, and the Spanish word "kara" meaning "face", thus denoting a multitude of smiling faces.
Bacolod, bearing the nickname, "City of Smiles". The symbol of the festival - a smiling mask.
