What do you feel during your first month in Steemit? Are you excited and nervous as well? I admit that I feel lost during my early months. Although I know that I have to write, I still don’t have a complete idea about this platform and there are lots of questions running through my head. Honestly speaking, I’m intimidated and worried every time that I visit another blog. They already have many followers while I’m still figuring out how I will get even just a few supporters. It is like sailing in the middle of the ocean without a compass and map; I am scared but I have to keep moving forward and there’s no turning back. I looked for my own navigational instruments to show me the way.
In order to stay on this track, I learned to search different groups on Facebook as much as I can. I’m a typical shy type of person so it is really hard for me to do it. Each passing days, I need to convince myself that socializing is necessary for growth and development. Embracing the truth that I can't do it alone and accepting the help coming from other individuals is essential for improvements. These are the things which I will never regret because it also introduces me to enter the amazing world in Discord. It was a strange place for a first timer but you will surely enjoy the ambiance once you are using it frequently specially if the people are nice and friendly.
What are the lessons that communities can teach you?

It will expand your circle of friends.
Joining several groups are opportunities to meet different people from many countries. Those simple conversations can lead to real friendship. It made my perception changed; I realize that it is possible to have true friends on the internet. They are the individuals that will always be there for you even if it is not about Steemit. Whenever you have problems, these people are just one chat away to give their advice.

The more that you are making new friends; there is more possibility of gaining new followers. Let’s face the fact that if you don’t know how to interact with other people, you will never succeed no matter how excellent you are in writing. On the other hand, you must not take for granted your followers because it is your responsibility to offer them blogs with quality content. A thorough support is given to those who exert their full effort.

You will learn to tolerate the differences.
We are all unique from each other and even the identical twins are not exactly the same. Expecting that everyone will agree with us is not going to happen because we all have the freedom to express our opinions. Does it mean that achieving unity is far from reality? No, it’s not. When you are joining many communities, it will open both of your mind and heart in respecting our peers. There will be no races and colors, only one love.

It can give you information about Steemit.
Don’t forget that your primary reason for searching communities is because you are eager to gain more knowledge about how Steemit works. Asking questions and finding answers to your inquiries will be easier. You can do it through the general chat room or just simply ask the person through direct message. Once that you are knowledgeable enough, you can share the things that you’ve learned to those who need help.
I am a believer that no man is an island so we must learn to socialize with the people around us. Behind a prestigious company is the hard-working employees and behind a successful man are those individuals who never leave his side. There’s nothing wrong with relying on ourselves but we should also learn to trust our comrades. A good communication and cooperation are both needed to attain a strong foundation of success. Let us all build bridges rather than walls and a long table to discuss things.
Every community is a family, welcome each other with warm acceptance.
