This is my entry for @bliss11's contest. As I take plenty of pictures and also play with Gimp/Photoscape a lot, this is a must-enter for me. For me, my goal is one more image to use in Redbubble, TeePublic and DeviantArt.

This was using the fractal filter on Gimp. I find this filter very hit-or-miss. I either love the result or I loathe it. This time, I really did love it.
The original picture:
This guy hangs out behind some buildings here in Wyoming. I knew I had to have a picture of him as I really do love street art - and this looked like a perfect solution to "what do I do with that stump?"
He reminds me of some portrayals of the "oak king" of modern Celtic mythology.
Here are some of the other versions I captured. Which is your favorite?
This "old photo" effect on Gimp is kind of cute.
The "soft glow" effect on Gimp seemed to add a touch of frost to this cold scene, so I really liked the effect.
This "weave" effect on Gimp was kind of nice.
Then we have Photoscape with "crystalize" - fun, but impractical.
A "cartoon" effect on Photoscape.
And a "color pencil" effect on Photoscape.
My favorite this time was definitely the fractal. I even decided to make it seamless so that I can use it in my shops better. (I also like how it softens the fractal effect somewhat.)
