I have tweeted the official sources in the past looking for confirmations / updates. I had not expected an answer but if they do, I will update this post and you have my word on that!! As of TOW here today, that is the case again. But I am sharing what I believe to be credible information, considered to be from credible sources.
I have a friend named Neeraj in one of my Crypto groups, who is VERY active and knowledgeable in the Crypto space and markets and his information is always good. I have found some of the info on these $ETC updates through him. I appreciate good people like this, who know we are all in this together and we should look after one another.

Much like there was a split in the Ethereum community with the Hardfork when the currency forked and became 2, and went in 2 different directions, there is a split with the 2 groups, in regards to the "names" being used and registered with Ethereum/Ethereum Classic and related projects. (Similar to the forks and issues/politics within the Bitcoin community) .
The EIT (Ethereum Investment Trust) project here registered by Silbert does have its detractors in the Ethereum community who feel the project should not be named or using the name Ethereum in projects -- as it deals with the currency fork - Ethereum Classic and should be similarly named.
