Archdruid Gaming: Author Showcase Issue 3

Happy Friday and an amazing week it has been. Archdruid Gaming is focused around quality and we are always on the hunt looking for undervalued gaming content.

This is our third week of Author Showcase. Where members ranked Gamer or higher in our community that shared their posts with us on discord. With the aim to find and bring attention to those with an exceptional post that made it into the top ten. Quite a few factors are looked into to make the cut: uniqueness, quality, effort, passion, “it” factor, among some other things as well.

@Vladalexan proves that sometimes shorter is better. Can you do a game review in 10 words or less? Well, my answer is not possible how you could even. Can you do a bunch of them in rapid-fire succession in one post? While still giving the reader enough insight to understand what the game is about. Now that is even more of an interesting idea. That also takes a fair amount of effort and game knowledge to be able to pull off such a feat.

In his second 10 Words game review, he proves not only is such a thing Is possible. He even includes this time 20 games to up the ante. It is filled with quite a fair amount of humor, references, and throwing some shade. If you don’t at least get some of the references your gamer card has been revoked!

@Pipiczech has proven yet again that mobile games can and are amazing. This is not the first time she has found an amazing mobile game to review. They are nothing like the old days where they were more of a gimmick than anything else. Granted that kind of games is still around loaded to the brim with cash shop requirements just to enjoy that kind of games somewhat.

This one is something special and the best part is you do not have to spend a cent in the cash shop if you do not want to. You can be free to play player and still enjoy the game. In her recent review of Fallout Shelter she makes it akin to being a breeding simulator. Along the way, she breaks down the gameplay from missions, questing, and yes breeding! This looks to be a wonderful game to play when you find yourself with some free time and in need of something to do.

stefanonsense.png

@Stefanonsense proved his true inner geek this week. Did what most stereotypical gamers would have gasp at the very idea of doing. He went out into the real world –gasp. I know, there something outside of the windows and down the road. Hey is that an open house event for a game?

He went on an epic adventure to showcase how amazing the Magic the Gathering community can be when they host an Open House for newer players at a local shop. They have people to explain the game, give you a free starter deck, and even showcase some amazing cards. As an old fan of this game myself, I still love the style of artwork they are putting out. This is quite an amazing thing to keep an eye out if you are new or looking to be a returning player for this card game.

gamingstation.png

@Gamingstation brings to light how games often have a deeper meaning to them. We have all played a game where you just felt something much deeper caused the creation of this. This can be seen in quite a number of large publishing houses and even to small game developers alike. Like blogging can for writers. Creating games can do for developers.

In The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit it shows this game is one that fits this bill. It follows a boy who has an alcoholic father and a life filled with tragedy as a result of past hardships. He highlights in his review while at some points they tend to go over the top in giving the player a sense of struggle it has a very creative side as well. A mind is a powerful tool that can be used to escape and hide oneself from our worst nightmares.

Author 5

techmojo.png

@Techmojo shows while you can have great respect and even a bigger admiration for a game developer they don’t always hit the make in how you would them to. This does not always mean the game was awful either. You just wished and expected a little more than you got out of it. In the gaming industry, most of us are all fanboys of something. it’s great when you can put that aside and admit things could have been better in the game.

While he still enjoyed Metal Gear Solid V there was also no holding back either in what he was not a fan of. His review brought a wonderful balance of pointing out how great the graphics were among other things. Also how it would be nice to have a skip option for the overly drawn out credits and other more generic parts of the game that seems to be on repeat. Sometimes we just need to hold the developer we love the most to a higher standard and call them out when they get a little lazy with how they implement things. Nothing is ever perfect in how we wish a game to be but the gamer should not feel like they are in endless suffering dealing with game mechanics that could have just included a skip button to get around.

Author 6

valiantegg.png

@Valiantegg being somewhat newer to our community thought it would be helpful to explore the background of character which is not a vampire but has some association with them on certain aspects. We here at Archdruid Gaming as well would like to know more about such things. After all, it’s not like we have a vampire in our own community or anything to that nature.

He enjoys playing League of Legends. He explores a character named @vladalexan. No, wait a moment I have that mix-up. Oh, I see in his review of Champion Feature: Vladimir who is also not a vampire. This character is a Hemomancerand I sometimes get those mixed up with vampires myself. He provides deep analysis looking into the lore, skills, and gameplay of this character. He also goes over how he sets up the gear, and other choices he makes when playing this game. Many of us are relieved it was not a vampire not that there is anything wrong with being one.

Author 7

rey56.png

@Rey56 is a bilingual author who writes in both English and Spanish. She likes to write gaming reviews and will provide separate posts for each language to reach a wider audience. She illuminates the pages with gifts, custom page dividers, and provides a scorecard at the end rating games for different things.

In her review of Sonic and the Black Knight ( English / Spanish ) she goes over a brief history about the company that created it and what lead up to creating this sequel. She goes very in depth about all the different kinds of mods that game can be played in and the characters. Finally, she finishes it out with an opinion section on the game and a final score.

Author 8

yosuandoni.png

@Yosuandoni has been on a bit of a humor streak as of recent. In life sometimes you just need to enjoy things and have a good laugh or two as well. He is the just as easy going person you can even tell from his own name where he lets you know you can call him-- Jerry.

If you are looking for a zombie game where you get to eat guts and laugh your guts out at the same time he has you covered this week. In Zombie Night Terror he explores a wide avenue of things found in the game. He shows the basics of how to spread the zombie virus onto others and helpful hints in what to do when you get stuck as well. There are a number of things this game has some fun poking as well. From how zombies walking and even how they consume food. Hard to be terrified of what is in this game when you can’t stop laughing.

Author 9

xr-hammergaming.png

@Xr-hammergaming produces video content using dtube and other formats. He provides amazing commentary and banter to accompany the videos sometimes along and other times with another. As of late, he has been focusing on doing Walkthroughs. You will find he puts out videos daily and is rather consistent in keeping his viewers wanting to come back for more.

In one of his more recent ones Dragon Quest Builders, he explores the realm in search of finding some Gigantes. Along the way you can see how important placement and tactics are in combating the wild monsters that roam around. While on a quest to seek revenge things take a turn in another direction. I won’t spoil what happens in this joy-filled tale. You will have to watch to find out.
